can someone give me a rundown on how mangago's rating system works? ive been reading on here for a while but never engaged in stuff like that till recently, so im a bit confused.
there will be people in the comments complaining about low ratings but the rating will be like an 8.3, and id get confused because generally considered 8.3 is a pretty good rating out of 10?
i rarely seen any works less than a 7, and even works that i think are objectively bad have pretty decent ratings. (ex. kiss the bride having an 8.6)
so, is anything less than a 9 considered 'low rated' or sumn? like what are the numerical thresholds between horrible/okay/good/amazing?

But i do not know how to answer you question. I just belive that the manga deserves a lot better rating even if it is now 8.3 because it is so good. But thats is just my opinion and i hope others find good manga to enjoy. I am really curious about the threshold and will follow with interest (⌒▽⌒)
A lot of users here are young and biased. Like if you are 13 and really like a certain genre you just dont have the experience to understand the flaws of a story, so you give undeserved ratings cayse you love the author/genre/etc.
This is how I think this rating inflation happens.
And yes, I'd assume below 9 is bad
most works here tend to be highly rated, 9 and above is good and lower would usually be like bad/decent but not that good
lower than 8 would probably mean its absolute dogwater
like the other replies are saying,, mngo users usually aren’t very critical, so if somethin has less than a 8 overall, it’s likely that it was mid or ass, even tho that would be considered a high rating by most people. Obviously you shouldn’t base what you read off other people’s opinions but ykyk that’s mostly the case

Yeah that's just kinda how it works here, everything lower than a 9 is meh and everything lower than an 8 is absolute trush
To add onto this most people here are reading most often very explicit bl manga, so they don't look for soul crushing complex stories. As long as the art style is decent and the characters aren't too bad they'll give 5 stars
Nah don't trust the ratings dude some are actually worth the high rating but some are overrated trash (the arts pretty awesome but the plot is a mess characters are cliche af)
just a random question but why are there so many completed manga (specifically) that are still marked as ongoing? nothing on the translators/uploaders but ive seen so many like that on this site, just wondering why?
Prolly an error but i have read replies under a comment addressing this problem before and they said that if it is still ongoing on the original site or the legal sites, the illegal sites mimic what the legal sites have put in their mangas. Idk if that's true tho cz i haven't checked
