It’s a morally grey combo. One’s a shit, narcissistic guy who scams and steps all over people for a living, and gets dominated and his illusions shattered by being fucked to the point of mindbreak. The top’s completely fucked in the head, probably from his childhood, a delusional bastard who doesn’t know the difference between manipulation, pity, and love.
Loving it so far. I’m surprised this comment section is somewhat calm, nothing like the other comments for stories with similar themes. You get what you’re going to be served right from the get-go.
I read the codename anastasia novel a very long time before manhwa was announced. To be honest, I was so close to dropping it so many times, but I did end up finishing it (+side stories) because I was hooked by spoilers my friend gave me. Yes, there is rape, and there’s a lot of… generally unacceptable stuff. If you cannot handle this kind of behavior, please, i beg of you, to stop reading. There will be more of this type of stuff. If you’re going to continue reading despite that, then that’s great too! Zhenya may seem like the biggest black flag right now (and he is, don’t get me wrong), but I’m telling you that you will adapt (?not sure if this is the correct word) to it as you continue reading. It may leave a bad taste in your mouth as it did for me, but I think that codename anastasia (the novel, especially) is very well written. You might think that rape is a terrible plot device, and it most definitely is, but the story in my opinion is very well written. It is, in fact, one of my all time favorite BL novels. If you *can* handle reading this kind of plot, then by all means, please do not drop this unless you truly hate anything about it! This isn’t a plead for you to keep reading or spoilers for the novel, just informing you that codename anastasia is absolutely worth the read if you can get through the hurdles!

Those last frames of yugeon holding his brother in his arms conveys an unreal amount of emotion without even needing speech. Beautiful portrayal of pure, unbridled rage toward the world and grief towards a loved one.

that expression in the last frame shows that the only part of him that didn’t want to succeed shinhai was the part that loves Matthew. He knows that if he becomes the new chairman, he’s never going to be able to see a mundane, normal life with his love, which he hinted that he wanted. or maybe im just reading into it too much and he’s just worried for the current madam chairman, who knows.
he’s a black flag and all… but shittt that was fucking hot. i read the novel a while back, so i already expected this, but seeing it drawn out hits different. if you hate stories with SA/rape its gna be a long one, i think there’s multiple of these scenes from what i remember.
So, for the few days that jaewoo went back to the real world, a year had passed inside the novel? I know it’s just a little detail but I wonder if that’s the reason why eunah was able to send him into the novel without a second thought, because he’d be only gone for a few days in real life?
