I might be overthinking things but, I'm confused about which dog breeds they decide to make dark skinned. Why is the Afghan Hound which is originally from Afghanistan light skinned but the Doberman and German Shepherd originally from Germany dark skinned. I don't know why but it feels like they're making the more "aggressive" dog breeds dark skin and that paints a negative picture. If they introduce a Pt Bull or Rottweiler and they're darked skinned, I'll have my answer ( T_T )
Hi! I actually read ahead to chapter 60 so far (kind of, its not translated so I have to use my phones translation feature (￣∇￣") but still). I totally understand why it would make you worried and why it might seem kinda racially charged cause i feel like that happens often with these kinds of concepts. From what I've read so far, the only other dog whose is included in the main story with plot that has a human self and has appeared to be dark skinned is a chihuahua. Idk if that kinda feeds into the "aggressive dogs are the only ones shown as dark skinned" idea because he's shown as a kid and is really innocent and sweet. But I also know there is a stereotype that chihuahuas are mean, though thats not reflected in the character. Other dogs are introduced or briefly shown in one page of what they would look but they are not dark skinned. Well, except for one but Im not sure what breed she is because it doesnt translate into a dog breed name so im not really sure. She is shown once or twice on an extra page. She gives cool girl energy like the other husky but not as energetic. But again, its only one drawing so that doesnt give a lot of info. Hopefully this helped in some way and gives you more info if you wanna decide to keep reading!

No worries I appreciate your viewpoint. I'm black so I like seeing darker skinned characters in anime/ manga regardless of their ethnicity. But because they're show few and far between, when the representations fall on the negative side I tend to scrutinize it more, but again that's just me. I do like the overall concept of this story so I do plan to continue for that alone.
