Someone in the comments said that this arc will teach Mori what a father is and how Ryder is more of a father to him….I don’t think so…
Ryder, Miria and the others already know about the concept of different familial names but the group of them ended up being mum anyway. The point of the story is how the role of “mom” is defined as one of care, love and something that brought humans together. Ryder cannot be Mori’s father because they can’t be tied to human gender roles and human sexes. Just because Ryder’s actions are “masculine” doesn’t mean there will be a connection to the role “dad”.
Ryder will always be Mori’s mum because they are a guardian that has unconditional affection and kindness towards him. To them, that is what a mum is.

Completely agree. I’d like to add on that this story clearly focuses on the found family troupe, which already doesn’t follow that conventional norms of what a “family” is. Multiple parental figures could exist at once, and therefore multiple “mama”s. I just think that this story clearly focuses of the idea of family as community rather than finding specific people to fill in the role of papa, mama, brother, sister, etc.
Whoever said this was as good as King’s Maker lied so bad im actually astonished.
I gave up Kins Maker on a third season. First two was good though.

i feel exactly the same, the way the author is able to portray his memory loss and confusion especially is amazing. i literally read all 78 chapters in one sitting and as gut wrenching as it is the realistic nature of the characters and the world building here is next level!

What I wanted to say to you, translator, is that keep improving your English, layout and typesetting skills and go for it! I can see your translations getting better each chapter but if you get anymore fuckass comments just drop it. If people don’t appreciate it then do it for yourself. Those people aren’t worth it and don’t feel bad either because another scanlation group will probably pick it up later on.
