problematic, abusive semes, I cannot wait to see Jaekyung get knocked the fuck out in the ring and begin evaluating his entire existence when he loses. I hope Mingwa gives us that glorious sight.
And I wish Kim Dan wasn't so sweet and innocent. It would be an amazing change to see him take advantage because in the end, it's Jaekyung who needs Kim Dan, not the other way around.
Great chapter.
Call me crazy but they've actually been dating since chapter 9. First date already happened. That's just how I interpreted the story. Probably went on too much of a deep dive, but for them, it was necessary and fun to go over all the theories.
When Skylar "asks him out", it becomes official but it's not sudden at all. It's the continuation of a very ~healthy~ abusive relationship, this time with Skylar's full consent.
It's not like I don't want an eventual happy ending, but I think the truth would be exciting to showcase because we don't get that very often with this genre. People don't suddenly heal the moment they fall in love. I believe the author even had Cirrus express something like that.
The reason I got so into this manhwa is because it's not your typical shounen ai. It doesn't sweep trauma under the rug. It's doesn't show obsession as something cute and romantic either and I hope the author doesn't go safe and soft just because most of the fandom wants to see fluff. I want Cirrus and Skylar to be friends, yes. And maybe Cirrus HAS shown development or perhaps he just wants someone to share his misery with.
who wants an explanation from Jisu? First, who would stay in that house after realizing that both father and son are batshit? She's young and pretty and could probably have a better life somewhere else, not having to deal with someone else's fuck up.
She even said to Cirrus that she wasn't in it only for the money. So, what else could it be? Just what is her motive?
Also, it's clear that Cirrus's father is super fucking crazy, the way he made them kneel to apologize to each other, the fake happiness he exerted in the beginning of the story. It's clear that he's the sole abuser (or is he?)
I know everyone wants them dead but don't you feel like there's more story here to tell? I feel like there's a lot we don't know about Cirrus and his family.
Really doesn’t matter cause at this point, his father isn’t the sole abuser. Jisu is also an abuser regardless of her possible motives. There’s no excuse for Jisu the bitch or the father the ass for hurting a minor, they made him the way he is. Although Jisu didn’t exactly make him this way, she contributed to the abuse and there’s no sorry excuse for her ass.
Who would stay in the house? Jisu clearly, she doesn’t give a fuck. All this time she’s a fake as well, especially in front of her friends, also a homophobic bitch, def a gold digger as well, sometimes there is no explanation. Sometimes people are just cruel, she probably did feel bad at one point but she’s never tried to stop it, she contributed.
We don’t need to hear her sorry excuse/explanation, she has none clearly. Maybe she also loves the father and stays with him, also for the money as you said she’s not ONLY in it for the money. I can’t think of another possible excuse for her to be staying there, she’s not a child being forced to stay there.
But I do agree that the father started all this shit. He brought home many mistresses and allowed the abuse.
I just feel like something is off. There was something left out. Or the author might add more bits of info later.
What do you think was left out?
For one, how did Cirrus's mom die? That's never explained unless I missed something and why does Cirrus's father feel that way toward him?
Maybe we're past the point of explanation now but I'm just left wondering why. I mean, they slept on the kid's bed like a couple of immature high schoolers. Where exactly did that come from? There's either something Cirrus isn't understanding or his father and Jisu just fucking hate the kid for no reason other than the fact that he's an asshole. The question is: Is Cirrus an asshole just because or is he an asshole because of the way he's treated?
The author leaves a lot up to interpretation and I've gone over countless scenes picking each of them apart, lol But I still don't get his father and Jisu.
Ohh I thought you were trying to find an excuse as to why Jisu is acting the way she is. I was thinking that even if she has an excuse, she’s still an abuser and her excuse don’t matter. My bad. And I agree with what you say now lol
