I finally caught up and lemme tell you...boy oh boy was I taken aback by Skylar's upfront no bullshit confrontation to Cirrus about the whole Chan-il situation. I get why he feels that way. Honestly, I'd probably think the worst too. On the other hand, I'd be flattered that someone went through the trouble just for me. I haven't seen the raws yet. Somebody break it down for me and tell me all the heartbreaking, gory details. Is Cirrus actually leaving? Are they not gonna make up or are they parting for real this time and it'll be a big nothing?
Did you guys notice how strange it was for Cirrus to see a normal interaction between a mother and son? Isn't that gut-wrenchingly sad? God, I LOVE how layered these characters are. And...unpopular opinion...don't come after me, but:
Do you think Cirrus went after Skylar only because he knew Skylar liked Chan-il? Blackmailing Skylar was finally a situation where Cirrus had something to control. Plus, his jealousy of Chan-il created this need for him to want to be the better romantic option in Skylar's eyes. That being said...Cirrus could have stumbled upon anyone....which brings me to the question: How serious are Cirrus and Skylar about each other really? Or are they just "convenient" for each other right now? And if they continue, could it become co-dependent?
Just a small note for those who don't know what co-dependency actually means: it's when between two ppl they each take on the respective role of the giver and the taker. The giver is someone who feels the functions be being needed by the other, hence giving up on their own needs and feelings to care and be responsible for the other person. The taker on the other hand, enables and takes advantage of that behaviour for their benefit, so that they're always the priority. Alot of times it's done intentionally, but others it's the organic result of the mix of certain attachment styles& personality disorders that aren't addressed.
I could see how Cirrus could have the role of the taker eventually, since he's the one with deeper and more pronounced traumas that often affect his behaviour and becomes controlling and that'd require Skylar to become a giver, so as to always give in to keep Cirrius' anxieties and insecurities at bay.
I hope it doesn't get that bad and they find some ways to be healthier, even though it's hard for them experiencing all that shxt since young and not having supportive adults in their lives..
At first I think Cirrus did, but he also went after him because he was jealous that Chan-il wasn’t focusing on him. He was picking on Skylar.
Good questions. How serious is Cirrus and Skylar with each other? Clearly Cirrus trusts his childhood friend Ri-in more enough to talk with her about his issues and cry in front of her. But how about with Skylar? I think Cirrus has been open about his issues to Skylar.
But has Skylar been? I don’t want to force anyone to open up, but how long can one wait and hide their relationship? It must be heartbreaking for both.
Skylar doesn’t really help much (the beating Cirrus part and triggering trauma while knowing about it) and nor Does Cirrus (unintentionally triggering trauma and throwing juice), both of them are confrontational and both apologize to each other.
I hope it doesn’t become codependent. I don’t think it will, they are communicating pretty well than I’d expect. Both apologized about what they did, and they don’t take it as a small deal and forget about it. Despite the mental health issues, they’re pretty communicative.
But there needs to be some trust and understanding. They’re teenagers so they have plenty of time to live it out and reflect on their actions.
Cirrus can be controlling but I doubt deep down that’s what he wants, nor does he wish to feel all these insecurities. I put fault in his father and those fathers’ lovers, and the step mother. He’s trying to control or scheme because that’s how he felt, controlled his whole life and cast aside.

of happiness. Well, they do deserve it. I don't know why I always want chaos. But I was happy with this ending (▰˘◡˘▰)
