Is there anyone who read the if you can series I have a question about chase parent aren't they supposed to be in love with each other how come their children have this toxic relationship. I didn't read their story so I don't know how was things between them.

Absolutely not, the parents love story is called “lick me up if you can” and the ML is crazy for the MC who is a dominant omega who wanted to have football team children. They are both dysfunctional and so couldn’t understand how to raise children with love and show that they love them. No political agenda here. The older kids are fucked up in the head because they were born as Dominant Alpha while Chase was a born alpha and changed to Dominant alpha during puberty. Because of this he has normal emotions while all his siblings were psycho from birth lol
Actually it's not that simple with the Miller family. And the manhwa makes it more difficult to understand. Add that this is Chase's story. That family has more than one problem, and adult Chase himself is also a problem.
You first need to understand how the secondary genders in this universe work, that those pheromones which makes the dominant alpha's superior are also a poison to them. An accumulation of pheromones can cause brain damage, you could lose emotions, go insane, even die. The other problem with those pheromones is that the earlier you manifest, the higher the chances that you have problems understanding/feeling emotions or have other problems. Then they lose their memory during their rut. And they are generally pretty possessive when it comes to their partner.
When Ashley and Koi started to get interested in each other in the final highschool year none was manifested, they where still "betas". But both came from very problematic families, Koi was poor, his single father an alcoholic, Ashley's parents, well they have their own story, it's dark. Their relationship gave Ashey trauma and made him hate his father and dominant alphas. So he wasn't happy when he manifested as a dominant alpha. When they met 10 years later. Ashley's revenge for Koi for leaving him (they had wanted to run away together, but Koi's dad became wery ill and he thought that Ashley would be ok without him and didn't come) was not releasing pheromones, it still didn't change that he loved Koi, but ultimately resulted in him losing his ability to feel emotions and becoming dependent on Koi. Koi manifested as a dominant omega very late, but he also has the problem since an accident as a child that he can't really smell. Because of all that marking didn't work. That pair is a dominant x dominant pair, means all their children would be dominant. They compromised on having 2 children, after Nathaniel.
At beginnning it was ok, when they only had Nathaniel. But when the twins were born the problems really started, because they were born manifested and small Nathaniel manifested on the day the twins were born. The other 3 children weren't planned, but birth controle was messed up with them and Koi didn't want to abort. When they manifest the start to emit pheromones, so Ashley started to see his own children as rivals and since he had that trauma from his parents probably thought the worst and was afraid one of them would become like his father. Add that he lost the ability to feel emotions. You see that for example with Nathaniel, he wanted to go to a boarding school, to not be in the way of his parents. And he calls Koi always Mr. Niles.
Koi really loved his children, but he wasn't able to controle them, there were 4 early manifested which made handling them really difficult. The problem with Chase and the twins was, that's at least how I understood it. They learned from Koi helping others is a good thing. Chase ( who manifested much later) was the child which wanted attention and affection all the time, but didn't really get it. And since Chase was their small brother they wanted to help him, they were focused on him. But their problems with understanding emotions, right and wrong etc. resulted that their help always hurt Chase. And Koi told them they shouldn't do that, but he had problems punishing them, since it wasn't intentional. After the children almost killed Koi, they gave him cake where they put in detergent to see if he really can't smell, which was actually an experiment for them, they didn't understand what they did. Ashley almost killed Grayson ( who was 10 years old back then), took over raising the children with more drastic methods, and forbid Koi to interfere, he wasn't allowed around them any longer, only sometimes when he was present. And Koi let that all happen, since Ashles threatend to bring the children away and I think he always felt guily that because of him Ashley got brain damage and is dependent on him. Koi is also pretty delulu, naive. If you later see how Bliss was treated, you feel extremely sorry for Chase, because Bliss was pampered and spoiled...by the whole family. For Chase who manifested late, not getting the attention an love he needed must have been hard.
Grayson, as crazy as it sounds, in his own crazy way probably cared the most about Chase. Adult Chase is not releasing pheromones on his own, remember what happened with their dad? Grayson doesn't want that to happen, that's why went helping him. But because of the way his brain works and his problems with emotions ( all of his creepy smiles are fake by the way) his help ( he is feeding Chase's fears so they can get him for example to pheromones parties, to give him injections etc.), while being successful so far, caused trauma on Chase. Grayson is unaware of that. Grayson's help in general is very problematic, not just concerning Chase.

Oh this is so complicated. I didn't think their story is that deep . I only read kiss me if you but later I discovered Grayson has his own story. I hated Grayson and i still did but i star reading his story to understand his personality better and to see dane more . The parent story i come across it a while ago but i wasn't interested in it but you make it interesting
