i can't really say since the novel alternates between the past ang present every few chapters and different point of views of dam and the emperor which, honestly is really confusing til i tried reading it for the second time and it made sense more. while the manhwa have the the 'better' timeline which would be (present-past-present) common on other manhwa's.
