Now that the dust has setting down until the next chapter i want just point to point out a few things.
1. Yacchan literally saw Toono looking at Kashima in chapter 34. He seem to notice something as He took it upon himself to finally confess to Toono. He clearly told Toono that he already knew his answer and didnt need it but wanted to do this as a opportunity to fight back and win Toono's heart even though Toono told him that this will cause him trouble. He is aware, but still insist on doing this evenin chapter 34 Toono didn't even seem happy or excited that Yacchan actually likes him as he told him that he sees him.as someone "cute". He was embarrassed but we don't see anything further with that confession unlike with Kashima. With Kashima, there was reaction from Toono before waking up from reality and giving him conflict and continues to remember it. Also, he was already aware that Kashima was in love with Toono and still wanted to beat him even if it meant using Toono only for him to fall in love with him too. I am aware that after what happened on chapter 32 fans were asking for Yacchan to fight back or to make him go with Toono or making them poly to the author to the point that she had to tweet about him after only being gone for 2 chapters (on pixivfanbox fans were concern about the comment section and how the fans were treating and harassing her. So take thay into consideration) So that's probably why we will still see Yacchan and Toono moments together for awhile but we shall see.
2. Itome and Akemi? I feel like the way this chapter ended, we might get a hold of Kashima arc to focus back on them again. People asked for a break up but it was already done in chapter 33. Now the i do believe that the way sensei wrote these two characters in the beginning of the series and even in Shikatani flashback (with Akemi, Minami with Itome staring at them), it doesn't look like they are going to break up for good cause they are always together. Itome didnt care that Akemi was in love with Minami. I feel like they will have a conflict which is Itome brother but somehow stay together or make up in the end. I know people dont want that but again we shall see.
3. Kashima being shunned is ironic as Toono and Yacchan were shocked by this as Kashima was always the cheerful one that was surrounded. by everyone but now is the lonely one. We dont know why he is being shunned during the sports festival
(People say it probably Kashima's fault but he did not fight Yacchan or the classmate in this chapter either. He went straight for Toono or walked away from Yacchan in chapter 17) We already know that the two club don't get along. The fact that the class said "annoying" (Translation is different here but in the original that is what was said) which means he was annoyed seeing them together. Almost like he was mad that people were still around Kashima. Maybe for being in love with Toono, being in the club or maybe he history for being in the Basketball club before he got hurt. These are just theories who knows what will happen. But the fact that he won't tell Toono is nothing new as he keeps his personal issues to himself.
4. Toono is in love with Kashima. Many people can deny that fact (sensei talked about it in pixivfanbox) but it still stands. The way he acted on chapter 33 is obvious enough but still seems to be unaware of it. Frustrating yes but it's to be expected.
5. Everybody seems to pointing out how close Kashima and Toono are (the soccer teams even points out in this chapter over Yacchan who is his cousin.) Akemi, Itome, Tamura Shikatani and now them? Make sense cause they are always together through the series so it not surprising where this is going.
6. Also this is the second time, Toono defends Kashima from someone. First Yacchan, and now The classmate. Toono is growing up. Though he not strong to defend himself it nice seeing him stand up for his friend.
7. Yacchan defending his cousin is a nice change. We usually don't see this kind of thing between those two, except in chapter 26. I nice to see the bonding between them then just rivalry all the time

8. Someone pointed out that Toono thought Kashima about to kiss him but pulled away? Im not too sure but the fact that but the author herself drew emphasis on kashima's hand who in fact touched Toono's face when they kiss in chapter 32 and pulled back after what happen between them is something.

Yacchan…why….Yacchan isn’t a bad person but I I want to just say that Yacchan, who confessed to Toono, said that he already knew his answer so he doesn’t need one. Even though it seems to be aware that Toono was staring at Kashima in chapter 34 but still wants to be his boyfriend. Even though Toono tells him that this is a problem that Yacchan apologize but continue to do his thing with Toono even though he continues to say that this is a problem? He aware of Kashima feelings for Toono and seems to noticed Toono looking at him yet he continue to push for this? It like he asking to be rejected. Maybe he just wants to treasure him a bit and enjoy the moments with Toono before the time comes. But he seems to pushing forward to the end.
Rereading his chapter and it still makes me sad for Kashima. Man is too damn good. But can I point out something that’s a bit frustrating to me. When there was something wrong with Toono, Kashima took noticed and approached him on this issue in private mostly immediately. Whether it was his feelings for Toono, or something else. Toono clearly saw something wrong with Kashima in chapter 34 and still does in this chapter. [even before Yacchan.) why didn’t Toono go to him sooner and ask him what was wrong?Not once but twice did he saw him like that. It took the classmates to talk about him more for Yacchan to even find out and go look for him together? (Yacchan didn’t notice Kashima but notice Toono looking at him) I’m happy that they are supporting him (Yacchan especially since we only saw that in chapter 26 where Kashima was supporting them both since the beginning and still does now.) My frustration is Toono telling Kashima “why won’t you say anything to me?” Moment when Kashima doesn’t answer? Toono clearly ran away in chapter 33 and did not do anything until this chapter to confront Kashima. (When he saw something was wrong) And what’s worse is he doesn’t tell him or talk to him about what he said in chapter 33 when Kashima asked what was wrong. Only asking Kashima about the fight. It like he knows about what he did in chapter 33 but doesn’t want to bring it up and it became worse for Toono when something strange happened to Kashima in chapter 34. I love Toono but man…. And another to to point out is than again every time Toono says something about his feelings for Kashima it gets cut off. Sensei pulling his feelings in the unknown once again.
I also find it funny that Yacchan friends point out to Toono that he and Kashima seem very close but not Yacchan who is his cousin. It seems like everybody pointing it out except for Toono himself. Even Yacchan seems to be aware of it. (Akemi, Itome, Shikatani, and Tamura and now the soccer team) and Toono defending Kashima again is cute to see the growth coming from his character. (First chapter 17 and now this one) watching both Kashima and Toono seeing Yacchan getting into the fight was a little funny. But when Kashima was about to get involved Toono Made this worried face towards him. And seeing Kashima and Toono make a sad face together when they talked about Yacchan been suspended for 1 day was cute.
I will point out that Yacchan (who was not a bad person) and Toono in the beginning in the chapter looked cute even though it was a small moment. (Toono being embarrassed and all) it seems like that how they would be if they were dating. But Toono seems clearly not excited as he kept telling him that this is a problem but Yacchan didn’t seem to care much.
I know this is a BL manga and usually then main character or couple gets closer and start accept there feelings for one another then some kind of problem or conflict arises. And it seems to be happening here. I hope that we dont get the run around or drag these chapters on before we see more progress with these characters.
Anyway… let’s see what happens in the next chapter.

people need to realize that Toono already rejected Kashima back in volume 3. He kissed Kashima in chapter 32 (his heart saying “want” which is something he doesn’t use often or at all probably until chapter 31 and 32 which is probably because of what happened between them in chapter 19) but apologized to Kashima afterwards only for Kashima not only kiss him back, and says his reason behind his Kiss(I like you) but does not ask or questions Toono’s reason behind his actions (his kiss) which leaves their relationship out to be questioned or in the unknown. Toono and Yacchan kissed in chapter 31 but because Yacchan asked him too. But even with that kiss you still see the difference between the two. With Yacchan Toono stated that he didn’t know what to do and it was embarrassing when it comes to Yacchan. However with Kashima, he was able to kiss him which shows the contrast between the two relationships.
This kind of thing happened with Jimmy and Yuri too so this thing isn’t new in YBB when it comes to dating and relationships. We know why Toono only invited Kashima only. Because Kashima was the only one that knew what happened with him and his parents. It shows that in chapter 31. Could he have invited Yacchan? Maybe. But usually Kashima is the one that is available most of the time where Yacchan usually is busy. Kashima also has to deal with his rival Yacchan who he cares about greatly despite what his cousin said to him in chapter 17 and 23 which seem to change his personality from volume 1 to vol 4 when it came to Toono. They already kissed more then once and they weren’t dating so why does chapter 32 change anything? They didn’t announce they were dating. Toono didn’t confess. Kashima is aware of that but still clings on a relationship that probably could never be. But unknown to Kashima, something has changed with Toono’s feelings. When Akemi and the gang talk to Kashima and Toono about their weekend at his parents home Toono immediately goes back to his old habits but stop himself because he kissed Kashima in chapter 32, questioning himself who was straight throughout the whole series. He even asked Shikatani if they should “have sex” But it get worse when Kashima tries to step in and say “nothing happen” which in return upset Toono. Because even though he didn’t want them to know about it, he didn’t want Kashima to think that their kiss didn’t mean anything which makes this situation complicated.
In chapter 34 if you noticed Toono is the only one that see that something is wrong with Kashima. Kashima told Toono that he gets depressed if he alone in volume 1. Yacchan doesn’t noticed, only Toono. Toono again sees Kashima by himself sitting outside and only Toono sees this and gets depressed and worried about him. Do I think it has something to do with chapter 33? Probably. I saw comments saying it was nothing, but we seen that look before in chapter 17.and only chapter 17 which the cover stands out from the rest of the series. I believe it will be up to Toono to talk to him about this but still has to deal with more problems that he and Kashima have.
Now Sensei has stated back in Volume 3 that things were going to get complicated once Yacchan falls in love with Toono and both confessing their love for him. It was foreshadowing for awhile now and it seems when Yacchan noticed Toono staring at Kashima in chapter 34 it was time to make his move. Sensei also stated that something is bloomed in chapter 32 which is obviously Toono falling in love with Kashima. We also know that Toono’s theme song Ikenai Love is start To bare fruit as well with him singing about falling in love with a guy but is struggling to deal with those feelings. But now with both feelings out, Toono needs to make a choice. However if you followed Sensei around 2015 and volume 1 and drama cd of YBB, you can pretty much guess the endgame here.
Sorry for my long explanation but I feel like I needed to point this out.
I've seen some people saying Kashima is a boring person compared to Yaguchi. Sure, Yaguchi might be more "interesting" to some given his two-faced and complex personality, while some viewers see Kashima as "boring" because he's presented as the nice, cheerful, and stable character in a sea of chaotic, dysfunctional, and dramatic personalities. But he is far from boring. While other characters are defined by their warped viewpoints or intense trauma, Kashima brings a sense of normality, kindness, and stability.
His relationship with Toono is one of the most developed and healthy relationships in the
series. Unlike the dramatic, jealousy-fueled relationships surrounding them, Kashima genuinely cares for Toono, even revealing his feelings directly rather than playing games. Some viewers find the chaotic, toxic behavior of other characters entertaining, leading them to dismiss a "normal" character as boring. However, Kashima serves as a crucial
emotional anchor. Without his grounded personality, the manga's intense and often dark
parody elements could become overwhelming. Kashima's "niceness" hides a complex, often insecure boy who's trying to hold onto a relationship despite not knowing if his love is
truly reciprocated, often having to compete with Yaguchi. This vulnerability, hidden beneath a smile, gives him emotional depth that goes beyond the one-note tropes of other characters. Kashima's character is misunderstood by some or called "boring" or "underrated" because his personality isn't as explosive as other characters, but his role as the sincere, proactive, and loving heart of the story makes him a vital and interesting character. In short, Kashima is NOT boring. He's a stable, genuinely affectionate, and relatively healthy character in a story designed around unhealthy dynamics.
On the author pixivfanbox she finally reveal Yuri’s face in color which was nice. She also spoke about Chapter 32 on something has beginning to sprout which is probably about Toono. I also noticed when both Kashima and Toono are looking at one another (Kashima was looking at Toono far away in chapter 6 and now Toono looking at Kashima in chapter 34) Yacchan happens to be there when he takes notice. I don’t know if that is simple, coincidence or not but I figured I should point this out. I also noticed that During the camping trip and Yacchan trying to take Toono away from Kashima that it was actually Tamara who starts breaking the cracks on Yacchan false persona. Not Toono.
What I see in chapter 34 that makes me sad, is why hasn’t Toono gone and confront Kashima and ask him what is wrong? I mean, Toono is the only one that’s noticing this and it clear that nobody has noticed (not even Yacchan who grew up with him) and at this stage will Kashima even show up at the club at this point and if he doesn’t then you know that something is indeed wrong. (Yes, I’m aware that Toono is dealing with his own feelings right now but still and ask him what is wrong without telling him his feelings) Kashima supported him throughout the series, especially in chapter 19 and now 32 with his parents. In chapter 17 which kashima was feeling like this (not showing his face on the cover or in that chapter) with Yacchan and now with Toono. In that chapter Yacchan was pushed by Toono to make up with his cousin so are we going to see it here too with Toono? Toono hasn’t done that yet with Kashima so this here is probably the moment. Will Toono confront Kashima when he finally accepts this unknown feelings for him? I’m calling it that this issue probably won’t last long given how the author gets these things resolved in a few chapters but I can’t help but wonder.
I went on sensei Twitter and noticed a tweet of Kashima saying “My boyfriend is eating bread right now.” And that was in 2017 where she drew Kashima and Toono together at lot at the time. So it seems to be on Toono’s pov. So…if the ending won’t be change (according to the author herself) and everything from vol 1 (besides jimmy who appeared in vol 2) was basically foreshadowing from the beginning then…..and.. with her talking on pixifanbox about things been planned 14 years ago and how things are progressing now in the new chapters….I think we know who endgame is….. (and no…I don’t think it will be poly folks.)
Well, people need to keep in mind is that Toono never even knew Yacchan liked him in the first place. His relationship with him has been mostly friendship related until Yacchan fell in love with him in chapter 20. (And even then, Toono didn’t know) His feelings for him is always “cute” and nothing more. He cares for Yacchan that’s is true but not in the sense of love. (At least not yet or if it ever going to change) There was no way that Sensei was going to leave Yacchan hanging without a fight so he had to confess especially since this story is about a love triangle about first years. What makes it sad however is that if feels kind of rushed as if you read chapter 31, Toono is the one that asked Yacchan about the kiss, making it seem like Yacchan forgotten or his kiss didn’t matter much to him after chapter 28. When he confesses to Toono it seem like he only did it, because he noticed something had happen between him and Kashima and needed to make his move now. (Not seeming to care for his cousin who was acting strange in that chapter) If you read closely, in chapter 33 and 34 Toono is still thinking of Kashima throughout the whole chapter even bringing him up during Yacchan confession. (In fact, he was thinking about Kashima in chapter 28 when he didnt understand why yacchan kissed him) when it comes to Toono feelings for Kashima, it’s always unknown and something he doesn’t understand. He doesn’t even understand that he is falling in love with Kashima. While with Yacchan, he only kissed him in chapter 31 was because Yacchan asked him to. (And even then. He wanted to kiss him only on the cheek) With Kashima it was different in chapter 32 and still is even now in chapter 34. People keep seeming to want Poly but I highly doubt it. (Sensei never done a poly ending before and people tend to forget that both Kashima and Yacchan discussed about fighting for Toono. And seeing how both character don’t like seeing another man touch Toono I don’t think they would want to share him. Yacchan especially seeing him get so jealous every time he saw Toono and Kashima together.) But we shall see as it seems with vol 7 coming out there probably won’t be a new chapter this month as Sensei been working hard on that release and she going to France next month
I loved this work along with a lot of series she has done. Hope to see more from her.
