Sad to say but there's only few scenes between them even in the novel. But I remember when Gallahan told Clerivan that he was kinda shy to approach him at first but now it's not anymore.

For me, Cliff is not evil. He is just blinded by love or so. But I cant say that Cliff is actually inlove with Liz or was it the authors doing...

The "Author" by the way, base on my understanding, is Liz. Like I think when the author died in her past life she possed Liz and really, like really, she is a b*tch. Spoiled if I may say cuz she wants everything happen in her way...

Cliff isn't evil. He is the male lead so unlike his brother who is the second lead he has more restrictions/conditions place on him to make him act this way. Sames goes with their parents, if they have a prominent role in the novel (around Lize) their easy control. That why side characters are changing because they don't have any (or less) restrictions on them. So, yeah whatever the author wants him (and his family except for Killian cuz of Edith) to do, he'll do, seen in this chapters and some chapters later on. Lize.. yeah she a dumb bitch
