Why hating on them? Author did a good job at portraying very complex characters. And the artist do amazing job depicting the story and characters.
Don't like it? Then don't read it. As simple as that.

As an avid novel reader, all genres, I would like to ask something.
When you read something based on fiction, have you ever think "Oh this is not for me. Gotta crash out and move on".
Have you?

People need to realize they decide for themselves. They have the responsibility for themselves. Book they read, clothes they wear, food they consume etc. Aren't they?
Readers can always pick their fav, drop the series or continue reading. As simple as that.
I remember a wrote comment here discussing this webtoon based on novel with warning, because I do know many will find the story very challenging going forward.
If the topics are too heavy, some having difficulty to understand, some misunderstand the contexts and everything in between then is not it wise to simply drop and move on?
Why do they spend time to hate? Why do they think they need to criticize everything that don't align with their values? We all perceive things differently.
Meaning-making is arguably one of the best parts of reading because it can be so interpretative, as there are thousands of ways to perceive one thing. We can all agree that this one is very toxic. Portraying serious issues with grim details. But at the other hand, the full meaning of this story is not just that. Never as simple as that. All monologue written there for us to understand human emotions. Human that always full of contradiction. All written and depicts in an epic ways. All the way down to how each character being portrayed by their dialogues, their interactions, their complexities. Leyla's is there with all stars and rainbows to counter/in contrast of Matthias's darkness and twisted personality. That's the main selling point in dark romance. I understand from the get go that this is not something people easily can appreciate.

My previous comment was intended to discuss CEYB and all negative comments directed at the artist. I agree that no one immune to constructive criticism. No one. But is not there's time and place to do it? I can not fathom why some people bash this webtoon while reading on illegal website. It's a bit ironic.

Have you seen the hate comment on the artist? Many readers comparing this to real people & tragedy (again, FYI, this is fiction). People went all out calling her names in public forums, discussions, social media in any platform. Can we agree that all those negative feedback are not fair criticism at all? And there's nothing she can do. She already signed the contract with Naver. It's her job to depict the storyline into art. People angry at her as if she was the one who write the story.
The artist ( Van Ji) and Naver discussing on age restriction after the negative comments she got. It should have been that way from the get go. She is thinking to stop her work although she is still tied by contract with Naver until the story end. She apologized and the hate is still coming.
One more thing to change is to put this in different category. While the story itself surrounding relationships but this is not a romance. I hope at least here, Mangago change the category.

I also think part of the problem lies in how Cry, Even Better if You Beg is categorized. On Webtoon, it's labeled as just "Drama," but on other platforms lile here in Mangago, it's tagged as "Romance" and "Shoujo," which misleads readers into expecting something entirely different. A story with such heavy themes should have clear tags like "Psychological," "Adult," and or even "Tragedy" to properly reflect its content and warn potential readers. This misclassification adds to the misunderstanding and frustration from readers who feel blindsided by the story’s dark and abusive elements. Fixing the tags and adding proper content warnings would go a long way in setting realistic expectations and reducing misplaced backlash.

Also the thing about summary. Someone need to write it properly. If only we get a decent summary, many will know or can prepare themselves what kind of story they are getting.

Although it's not fully captured all important point in the story but enough for people to understand "oh this is highly disturbing, better not read this".

Did you read the whole story or just jumped some chapters, i feel everyone is missing the point were he also was poisoned with a poison that would make you act aggressive and bring out the bad that everyone is capable of, this happens in his past life and in the current one but in this current one they find the situation and take measures against the poison. So the ending is fair if you pay attention to everything it happens.not just the start and the last chapter.
