I had a thought. Notice the lack of male villains in the story? Matthias is a piece of shit, but the author makes him a hero.
Literally every woman gets DUNKED on.
Layla - assaulted and made a good tradwife. she's good and pure, also her firstborn was a son, brownie points for that. she gets a good ending because she's not like these boring materialistic noblewomen. Matthias's names their son after his whoremonger grampa.
Royal family's daughter - Was desperate for Matthy, but Matthys family chose Claudine as fiance instead. Somehow, in the story, it's told that the duke's family is more powerful than the royal family. So basically Matthias has the most money, most power, biggest dick, best face, every woman fights for him but he was Layla's prize.
Claudine - Obligatory female antagonist, cold and ambitious, also a comical bully. Gets married off to a ugly and old merchant as punishment for being a bad woman.
Claudine's mom - A supposedly bitter horrible bitch wife because her only child Claudine is a girl, but her husband's mistress had a illegitimate son who's 100% better than worthless female Claudine, so her father wants to marry their daughter off. Claudine's mom is bad for hating her husband's cheating.
Matthias's mom - Proud cuckqueen whose Duke husband brought mistresses home while she was loyal and did everything she was supposed to. Deserves being cheated on bc she's not good and humble, accepted her place, Matthias bragging to Layla about his dad cheating on his wife.
Matthias's grandma - A good woman for accepting that husbands cheat and sees it as natural.
Layla's mom - A horrible whore for abandoning poor Leyley. Only her husband is so good and kind for staying with Layla and dying.
Kyle's mom - a comical boy mom villain who sabotages Laylas engagement.
Every male character in this story is either a meek happy go lucky coward or a powerful nobleman who every woman wants. Women are dumb bitches, catty and gossiping hoes who need to be contained, only worth something if they're good tradwifes.
Oh and Layla herself has no female friends whatsoever. Only a token collab between Solches own works, some Odette girl who got raped by her own ml too is her only friend.
Why is Solche like this? Is she self inserting as Layla?
