I was lowkey confused too, but Iām guessing Teaui thought that since they slept together, the sniper wouldnāt actually kill him since he was hired by Xinulu (canāt spell his name). Like Teaui assumed there had to be some feelings involved between the two (ilay and Xinulu), so he didnāt think the sniper would actually go through with it.. bc Xinulu could have warned the sniper ahead of time not to kill ilay due to their āpast-relationshipā. Is what I think Teaui thought and meant as in āwhy would he kill the guy he slept with? They must have had some feelings for eachotherā.
