y’all ren might’ve been an asshole at first but i think he just wasn’t self aware, right after kaede complained he changed to the better. i feel like he was being distant because i mean, they’re literal strangers and he just assumed that kaede was in it for the benefit of the rabbit clan so he didn’t want to get overly attached. not to mention the story isn’t really romantic (at least not at the beginning) they were both very formal and polite. the only explanation i can think of for the neglect after “sex” is that ren can’t control himself when he’s overly enticed and premarital sex isn’t allowed in the wolf clan (mentioned in the story). now the cousin relieving kaede was really fucked up because its literally sexual assault. kaede enjoyed it because he was under the impression that ren was the one giving him hand jobs every night. if he knew it was the cousin he would not have liked it!!! ren has the right to be mad, i would be pretty fuckin pissed if my cousin thought sexually assaulting my significant other was for their benefit.
