This is exactly what I was gonna say. He had a right to be annoyed that the dates were all cancelled when he’s only an intern and also he has a set contract of how many hours he has to work. He’s not “emergency on call vet”, he’s AN INTERN! I know an ER A&E nurse who’s on call and even she has full days off. Multiple of them in a row even. He has absolutely no boundaries and that’s why his ex left him and why Minato is so messed up. I would have already dumped him if I saw him “flirting” with a coworker instead of coming to me so we can finally go on our date that’s been rescheduled several times! It’s not okay. I’m with the ex girlfriend on this one (not the cheating but her breaking up with him) and I honestly with Minato broke up with him. Force him to set boundaries and make sure he sticks to them before taking him back. I can already see the arguments happening 3 times a week because of this issue. Also, his ex DID bring up the issue. She told him that she was upset he never messaged or called her back and was rude about it and then he just leaves her for his college mates? I know she told him it’s fine but that has to be the biggest lie in the book. It’s obvious that even if it’s “fine” and she understands, it’s not okay to do that as a partner. Minato also regularly brings up this issue and has always been honest about his insecurities. Shizuma just doesn’t care enough to listen and remember what the issues are and what he needs to compromise and find a Goldilocks solution for.

Lmao it’s fine, let it out. Shizuma can be dense and that’s the only thing I dislike about him aside from not setting boundaries. He’s green flag other than that but I do wish he takes Minato seriously, I’m sure he does but I’m not seeing it with how he thinks of his insecurities as cute and delays their plans over some non work related shit.

He’s being a people pleaser and it isn’t helping Minato. I also don’t like how the boss drags Shizuma around just to use him for communication. The boss is a grown man and should be able to communicate especially working in that vet field.

As someone who is a healing people pleaser, that’s not what is the issue. I can people please and still prioritise the person I love. He’s selfish and self centred and doesn’t actually think about what others want and need from him. He’s actually very very superficial. To me, he’s giving narcissistic vibes. I grew up in a narcissistic household and my mum acts exactly how he does. “Why didn’t you tell me things were hard for you?!? You should have told me!” But Minato DID tell you and so did your ex. He’s gaslighting his ex and himself and trying to do it to Minato. He’s so manipulative. Minato isn’t the one with communication issues for this situation, it’s Shizuma and Shizuma thinks it’s got to be Minatos fault for not saying the exact words “this is my explanation of how you hurt Me” as if “you hurt me with your actions towards me today” isn’t enough. They both know what Minato was angry about. It’s what Minato is ALWAYS angry about. He’s insecure and Shizuma is CREATING more situations for Minato to feel insecure in. Shizuma definitely wants Minato to depend on him and to put up with this love bombing/neglect cycle by dropping him in the shit then picking him back up. It’s classic narcissistic behaviour. They fuck up, treat you right for a little while then go right back to the same behaviour that hurt you in the first place. And he’s shown that multiple times throughout this manga. He’s not a red flag. Minato isn’t perfect but he’s actually facing a trauma response and needs therapy but therapy doesn’t help if you’re still in the same situation that helps flourish your trauma response. It’s like trying to put out a candle that went out of control but your whole house is on fire so every time you try to put out the fire, something else is burning. The boss is a whole other issue but Shizuma isn’t a good man at all. He takes no accountability for his actions both past and present.

You should post what you said to the comment section, I need everyone to see it. Shizuma def takes his trauma lightly. Like it doesn’t take a genius to realize the trauma is causing his insecurities and saying “that’s it?” Can be so invalidating and insensitive of him to say to Minato when he finally expressed himself.

I’m pretty sure they were like in the middle of sex at the time or just about to have sex and Minato burst out and said something like “of course I wouldn’t break up with you over this” since that’s what Shizuma was worried about and then he started listing things he wanted and was disappointed by and then Shizuma didn’t say much and just continued on or if he did say something, it was something unrelated or just a simple “yes honey” or something but there was no discussion or plans to do better. He just said “I can’t wait any longer” and went for it.

I think it was kinda rushed. Minato said “I’m tired of everything” and Shizuma panicked thinking it meant that Minato was breaking up with him and Minato said that he wasn’t breaking up with him then asked if saying that was a no go. Shizuma said it was fine and Minato started explaining his frustrations and then Shizuma said “wait.. that’s it?” And Minato got even more angry and started saying “don’t flirt with women, don’t go into a car with them, get a taxi instead, don’t smile at people, don’t do this, don’t do that!” And said something like “your smile was the first thing that attracted me to you so it’s special to me” or whatever and Shizuma got horny over that and didn’t address any of the rest of the “conversation”. I could be fuzzy on some details but I’m pretty sure that’s it.

More Minato than Shizuma I think. I wish they stopped and had an actual conversation about it. It’s not a simple conversation to have and Shizuma getting horny over Minato being vulnerable and putting Shizuma on a pedestal is very problematic. If you look at it in the view of a psychologist, Shizuma is happy that he can control so much of minato. Minatos mood depends on Shizuma and Shizuma is happy about it. He wouldn’t have gotten so horny if that wasn’t the case. He got scared that Minato was going to leave but it’s more that he’s lost control of a person he wants rather than someone he loves leaving. I highly doubt he will show any improvement. If he truly loves Minato, he will make changes and if he doesn’t, it’s all just love bombing and narcissism.
