Between a witch and a magician is there actually a difference? They seem to both be able to use magic and make medicine so is it literally just being able to learn officially at a school or on your own?
I honestly don't know why people react that strongly against witches in this manga but I think the difference between witches and magicians is that witches are an illegal occupation. You gotta register and study magic in some school or under some great magician as their apprentice in order to be recognized as someone who handles magic.
And I'm only guessing here but there might be some sort of superstition against witches or some long and dark history against witches. Also I think that magicians are like a corrupt government that monopolize medicine and magic in order to reap the benefits of it
The story takes itself semi seriously and the should follow that. Read this with the intention to go with the flow and an open mind and you’ll like the story and concept just fine. The story is a bit cringe but fun, the mc does read like a self insert but it’s cool if you enjoy those stories. Go into this when you have nothing else to read and you want something that tickles your brain without making you think. Either way I like this well enough for what it is. And I love a yaoi that isn’t non-con or dub-con.
A lot of people aren't loving this FL but honestly she's on of the most realistic Leads I've seen in a Vamp story. No one in their right mind is going to have positive feelings towards someone who's attacked them before, already has a bad reputation and is holding/torturing their only friend. Yeah because we see his struggles we know he's pitiful in a few ways but she doesn't and as far as she's concerned she just wants answers and to free her friend. Yeah she's doing a couple of stupid things but the point is that she's not thinking. She's focused on her friend and the fact that the "Blood thirsty" Emperor is in fact not human which I'd guess is rather unusual in this universe.
hmm yea I see your point but she doesn't have to think positively about ML or think too far to see that ML doesn't want to drink blood. he tells her clearly that he's struggling to restrain himself then she goes and uses that against him for answers, proceeding to cry when ML does take her blood like ??? you ASKED FOR IT. she then takes on this protecting role of the baron dude as if ML was out to hurt the both of them.
Honestly there are only so many ways you can write a story whose basic principle is "bullied character in an ancient civ. dies and is replaced by a badass" I've seen some pretty unique ones and I've seen a ton of sad attempts, this on in comparison isn't bad and at least it's fast pased. But honestly while these aren't hard to find they're also pretty obvious so most people who are complaining about the predictable set up should pay attention to the fact that the summary literally spells out for you that a badass MC replaces a trash char. and goes around face slapping people until it gets old. Take a break from the genre, or avoid it all together I had to do that when I got tired of the "summoned to another world to save it" stories that had seemingly exploded all over the internet. And honestly this is one of few MC that didn't look like half an idiot or irratate me from the very begining, she takes no shit and she's willing to throw the first punch. I can't tell you how peeved I get with MC who just wait for storms to hit them and are always in a reactive state, yeah she's not going out of her way but she's also not beating around the bush and has a "I know I'm better than you" attitude.
I have several people in my class staring at me like I'm insane since I burst out crying and even now streams of tears are running down my face. I wasn't ready for such a tearful chapter, I mean I knew his parents had to have gone through some crap after he fell but DAMN! I wasn't ready! I demand a warning next time!

Gandalf is gorgeous! While you all have been distracted by the glitter and glam of the three sub-par male leads I've seen the true gem amongst men in this world.Those shining eyes, that back strained from carrying such hardships, that hair! Gandalf is truly a beaut.
