I'll be honest, I don't know what people see in this. I know it has a huge following with very devoted fans, but it's 142 chapters with no character development and a rape finale. Which apparently wins Taeui over to finally stay around. Iilay is such a one-dimensional flat character too. The art is great but I don't know how this won over such a cult following.
Passion has 2 other novels dyamphonic symphonia and suite. Suite in particular has a lot more maturity from Ilay's side and character devlopment. Again not justifying him being a rapist or piece of shit. But I think i prefer how the change isnt sudden, that he falls in love with tae and does a 360 like in codename anastasia or roses and champagne. His devlopment therefore feels a lot more logical. After being in years of relationship with tae do we see gradual changes in his habbits. Since its been established hes a psychopath, i think changing his personality completely wld have been way worse because then his actions are just justified under "he loved him" "he did it for his affection" etc or that he had childhood trauma.
Jinwoo could have had Guwon wrapped around his finger but instead he's going to get everyone killed.
I’ve really been looking forward to this one bc of the art and the glasses. But god that was the most boring generic first sex scene, why do all authors write like this. Is there more to actually look forward to because this is just your typical no prep no-lube “I can’t hold back” sex that’s in every bl manhwa.

Yangma wrote on Twitter basically saying if you don’t like the subject matter then don’t read. Funny how authors who write rape ALWAYS get pissy when fans have the normal reaction of NOT liking it. People should never make threats to authors (didn’t see that happening) but it’s time for authors to realize that they do not get a free pass at writing shitty tropes and rape fetishes. Sure do what you want it’s your story - but we the readers have a right to tell you when we don’t like it. I always see authors on Twitter being praised for anything - this is why they write this crap! Glad people are calling this out.
