I really enjoyed this nice, adorable, and easy read though season 2 was a bit rushed compared to season 1. in season 1, I really enjoyed the pace and how each character was building their personality but then season 2 felt like the author decided the story was lowkey over after they confessed. for example, hyeonjin realized he liked chanyeong after a wet dream and that felt so lazy. hyeonjin doesn’t seem like the type of person to have a wet dream be the deciding factor on whether he likes someone or not. I thought it was gonna be overtime, like the little things. I know the story was basically over when they started dating but on a related note, I wish there were side stories of how they’ve matured and built their life together after university. idk that just felt like something that should’ve been in the story as their maturity seemed to be an inexplicit big part of the story. last thing, the glasses man ran after some guy and we never heard about that again. the author said as the story progressed she felt like their story didn’t fit but my question is why did you commit to it in the first place. it seemed like an impulsive decision but now your fans are curious and you’re not even sure if you’re gonna make a separate story or not. so, I hope this author plans better in the future. overall, I really really enjoyed reading this. I feel like nowadays there’s not really any chill stories like this anymore so instead of being constantly stimulated, I appreciated this.

this is one of my fav short stories rn. the art is gorgeous but also its not as surface level as the others. when yijeong said “how can I love you when you don’t even love yourself” I was like woah…these characters actually have depth. even yijeong who I originally thought he was just one of those tops that fell in love at first sight and that was that. on the other hand, I do wish that we got more of an explanation about taerim. from what I can infer, his brother used to try and get “closer” with him but taerim didn’t like that and tried to run away by stealing his father’s money. everyone and everything pissed me off. I deeply feel the possessive seme inside dohyeon so eunho also annoyed me at times. sometimes I feel like eunho doesn’t have a brain and can’t connect the dots on why dohyeon is behaving this way or he does know, chooses to ignore it, but then gets pissed off like you soooooooo annoying. yihyeon also annoyed tf outta me. like you know damn well what’s going on so please back off and stop making it worse. now…whoever the writer was for the adaptation needs to be fired. I didn’t really know this story was originally a novel but from the big gaps in the story, it was pretty obvious. for example: eunho left the villa unannounced and then the next scene was dohyeon drenched at his doorstep at night time. reading that felt like someone just kidnapped me in a white van, covered my eyes, and then left me somewhere on the side of the road. I know we can infer what happened in those gaps but I can never be 100% sure if you don’t show me. plus, reading what actually happens just hits different than having to come up with it for yourself. anyway, I don’t recommend. I only read this so I could read winter time. I feel bad for the original author of the novel.

All I have to say is that I will never read this again, not because it isn’t good but because all the torture that geom had to experience over the course of 8 years made me feel so depressed for him, like I genuinely wanted to cry. I don’t know how he was able to endure it all this time, even if it was for the sake of revenge or wooyeon, I still can’t comprehend. even if he’s a fictional character, I truly feel so much for geom. in my imagination, he lived out the rest of his life living happily ever after. I started reading this because I’m a fan of the author’s other work “Moonlighting” DEFINITELY GO READ!!! I honestly thought this story was going to be a lot more serious, in regards to, the mc hating the ml for the fact that he ran away 10 years ago but he was surprisingly understanding. It made me realize that they’re love, care, and understanding for each other ran deeper than I thought. once you hear the words “high school relationship” you automatically think it’s unserious and comparable to a fling, but no, they were genuinely each other’s rock. of course, the mc had some unresolved worries when they got back together but he was fine as long as he was reassured. this story was heartwarming and it made me laugh so I really enjoyed it.
even tho it’s a short story, it didn’t feel short because every chapter was as long as it possibly could be trying to explain the main characters’ complex feelings. I wouldn’t be surprised if the author was a therapist themselves because they way that they’re able to explain the main characters’ feelings in such an easy way but not so that it undermines the true impact and depth of what they’re going through is truly amazing. It may require you to really focus on what they’re saying but it’s worth it. I hope the author makes more stories like this and other authors start explaining characters’ feelings more in depth too because unfortunately, nowadays, a lot of people are illiterate and cannot read between the lines leading to mischaracterization. outside of all the tough feelings there’s definitely some feel good moments that made me happy. honestly this relationship felt really realistic excluding the actor dating fan bit.

My favourite thing in this story is seong-rok and je-oh’s dependence on each other. They both come from backgrounds where they had to face their fair share of hardships but were able to become each other’s breath of fresh air. which makes me think…ms. jeon also fit into that category of unfortunate circumstanced background but she moved entirely differently. to get to the top, she used people as pawns instead of equals or allies and that ultimately lead to her demise…but why? why did she never think to work as a team with the unfortunate people she came across, similar to how seongrok and jeoh are a team? part of me thinks it’s her desire to finally be in control and to not be swayed by “unnecessary emotions” but it bugs me that I’ll probably never fully know the answer unless there’s side stories. Someone that also took my notice was kang hyeonwoo. I really wanted to prove all those corrupt cops wrong but at the same time I wanted seongrok and jeoh to be free fr so I have mixed feelings about him. about the side couple with sieon and hangyeol Im kinda iffy about them. hangyeol is so forgiving apology is nowhere near sieon’s mind so I wished he let sieon at least sweat, no matter what childhood even made him this way. so hopefully we’ll see a bunch of my questions answered in the side stories. I most definitely recommend reading this and all of author evy’s other work as she’s such a good writer and artist!!!

Honestly, there’s nothing special about this story, which kinda made it boring at times ngl. It’s mostly about how the uke is scared to express his feelings to the seme because the uke raised the seme since he was little and still sees him like a kid along with a gangster side plot. Hae-on was my favourite part of this story because his love for juhyeok never wavers despite getting rejected constantly and plus he’s a cutie patootie. this used to be my FAV bl ever…until I got bored. I was waiting for some drama, climax, ANYTHING but it never happened. I really like how this amnesia trope was conveyed. It showed how the uke suffered from inferiority complex and also wanting to constantly prove himself to people, so much so, that he never allowed himself to be vulnerable. however, when he lost his memories, all the reasons he had to be so tough 24/7 vanished and he was able to relax for a year. tbh, I hated how his og self treated yeonseo, but again, he had his reasons so it was nice to see them be lovey dovey for a while. The transition from him gaining his old memories back and then excepting his new self was too abrupt. I know he had conversations between his different selves in his mind, but I wish it was a more gradual process. Overall, I really loved this read. I think the author did a really good job of trying to make this a full fledged story. I’m really hoping for side stories and more work from this author and artist. especially the artist because the final evolution of the art of in this story is gorgeous.
