I cant remember much from this manhwa other than the princess being a frequent victim of rape by her father. Overall, the writing and pacing isnt for me; apologies for not giving you a more thorough answer but ive long since dropped this story

Not sure where you stopped reading, but she drugged and tried to coerce the ML into having sex with her, regularly tortures her innocent maids, mutilated the FL’s feet for fun and actively wants everyone in her country to die.

She’s angry at being treated like an object but has no problem doing the same to everyone beneath her. Not to mention that she’s apparently not afraid of dying, but prefers to take literally everyone in the country down with her instead of just pulling a murder suicide on the king.

I mean...for all 30 years of her life, the princess has been trapped in a power dynamic that lets her father sexually abuse her without consequence. Her father's title as King means not a single person who knows the truth has done anything to help her, and those that do have the ability to help her have chosen self preservation.
Im not shocked that after 30 years shes come out the other side twisted and tormenting others, bc if no one in the kingdom will act on their morals to protect her, why should she have benevolent morals to care for them?

Her goal to destroy the very kingdom that sits her rapist on the throne is the most compelling motive imo bc it comes from a place of indignation and hopelessness. The ml and fl are working against her interests so ofc she's going to delight in their failures.

This isnt me justifying her actions or saying shes misunderstood, we as readers know shes chosen the most destructive path - I just like seeing villains that are not perfect victims.

I disagree with this. No matter how you've been abused throughout your life, you have a moral obligation to not hurt people who haven’t done you wrong. You don’t have the moral obligation to endanger yourself or commit straight up suicide for someone else’s sake. (Which is what would have happened to anyone who tried to step up to the king - the guy with absolute political and military power).

Her motive also isn’t compelling, it’s fucking stupid. She’s thirsty enough for revenge to be willing to die for it, but too much of a coward to just murder the king and accept an execution in return (or even try to escape afterwards). Or she’s just so much of a raging sociopath that she just NEEDS to see hundreds of thousands of innocents die horrifically in order to be satisfied - because killing her rapist isn’t enough for her.

This is not to mention that she has no qualms about raping people herself. So her being angry at being raped makes her out to be a hypocrite, full stop.

She hasn’t just chosen the most destructive path, she’s chosen the most stupid, morally abhorrent path, and she straight up lost all of my sympathy. I genuinely don’t care what her backstory is now. She’s a fetid piece of shit, and her death can’t be painful enough.

You say she should have a moral obligation to not harm ppl that have done her no harm - and I do wholly agree with that. However, I also believe ppl have a moral obligation to stand up against someone who causes harm, regardless of the political power they wield. Because thats the right thing to do. Otherwise everyone is a fucking bystander and it only gets worse from there - which it did.

All it actually takes is enough ppl in the palace to kill that man and pretend he died peacefully. That is the solution that would have saved her. The only feasible solution, in fact.

So yes, the princess IS a coward for choosing to kill everyone and bring them down with her. And in the same breath, everyone who knew about her sexual abuse and did nothing to help her is a fucking coward. Two things are true at once; and both things are why shes as morally abhorrent as she is.

Im happy to conclude this with you disagree with my take and I disagree with yours, theres no need to discuss further when my original comment was supposed to be a silly, facetious way to say im dropping the story.

I don’t think it’s that good of a story honestly. The FL is way too forgiving of all the shit the ML pulled, to the point where there’s no satisfaction to him groveling. The only thing that was neat was the monster army being revealed to be an alien species.

But like I said, I don’t agree that the princess was a good character. They try to pass her off as one by using a throwaway line right before she gets dragged away by the guards but like, no. She’s an unlikable bitch, through and through.

She has no place complaining about getting raped if she’s just as willing to rape others. (In addition to the torture and genocide).

Assassination attempts also carry far more danger than you seem to think. It’s still a risk to one’s life, and no one is obligated to risk their life for something.

If you want to end the discussion here though, that’s also fine, probably better than dragging out an internet debate.
