Is this supposed to be like a take on Anne of Green Gables? I'm kinda getting that vibe.
Also despite what a crap person blue haired dude might be, Marilyn really did bring this on herself. Imagine a person you never met through before looking at you like you're the devil and throwing their coat at your face. And then later you return it to them only to find they threw it in the garbage because you touched it.
Like ouch.
And the FL was described as snatching her things away in the novel.
But she isn't like that.
So Idk how much I can trust the novel description.
"It was in the past"---guys, dead people don't come back to life just because someone has changed. Yes, the emperor has changed ever since he has been able to sleep again. He's more temperate and working on himself (even if it's only so Lillian will like him more).
However, it's only been a few months since he's stopped killing people every time they made even a single, small mistake. Even if there was a reason (his curse) that doesn't mean people's lives weren't irreparably destroyed in the process. He's still responsible for all the deaths he's caused. Go back to the earliest chapters when everyone in the court were terrified because they knew they could lose their life at any moment if the emperor didn't like what they said. It's not like he was only executing criminals.
I'm not saying you have to hate him whatsoever. But your reasons for hating on the girl are shallow. Some of y'all are calling her a bitch and saying stuff like "how dare she say that to the literal emperor/empress, it's treason" and yes, it is treasonous and out of line.
However, consider how much she has already lost to not care about her own life like that. How do you think she feels, seeing the emperor who killed her older brother (and countless others) suddenly get a happy ending like nothing ever happened? And everyone is just cheering them on like your family's loss never mattered.
