When they woke up they are in a school in hell(?) where they need to through tests and classes to have the right to reincarnate. It wasn't just about humans, there were also monsters in that school. The fl was a plain short haired girl with brown or black hair and later in the series she had a dragon boyfriend.

Just reread from the beginning and Henry said in his first meeting with Iruma that he meet a human before, they were protected and returned to the human world with thier memories of the demon world are erased. So safe to say Merize survived and returned to the human world but without any memories of Henry and Amery.
