I feel kinda icky. Knowing that this is how it actually is in the industry. And the thought keeps popping up in my mind the only reason it's kinda passable is because the director is young and hot. Make him old and ugly and he would be the villain we see in all other stories.

Okay so I just reread it. And I feel like it is a good idea of plot.I love it.However , I feel like there are some things that just don't work very well. Such as the ML being a psycho killer, yet feeling empathy for the MC when the MC describes his past, or acting like the priest is a lunatic, when he and the ML are the same in my book lol. Also, the MC has trauma from being tortured.Yet wishes to be killed by the ML and allows torture by him in a way. and grows attached to the ML. It feels a bit off, since he seems so afraid of it. At some points, it almost seems like he's excited by the idea of being killed, but he says it hurts, and he reacts in trauma response to the memories of being killed and tortured by the church in his past. Don't get me wrong.I really like the story, but when when you reread it almost feels like the author didn't think things through completely and things just don't seem to naturally work. This is my opinion, i still love it and will also continue reading.And I will stop thinking too deeply about it , and sorry for the writing , this was done in text to speech.

I'm still hung up on the memory thing. The ML mentions that it was not he, but the other him who erased the memories. But during their argument the ML said something (I can't remember exactly) but basically he said it's good the MC has no memories of his fam. And ML also laughed out loud when he discovered he had no more memories...this to me is proof he is exactly the same person even in this life. Furthermore, where is the empathy? Non existent, no empathy for the MC from the ML or from the author. Okay, so because ML suffered more, MCs pain is not valid or not important or whatever. I keep seeing people defend books that include rape with excuses like “it’s just fiction,” “the plot is good,” or “I’m here for the worldbuilding.” But here’s the thing—rape is bad, period. Fiction or not.
What’s wild is that some people actually have a fetish for it. Because if you didn’t have even a little bit of that, you wouldn’t feel personally attacked when someone criticizes rape in a story. No one’s saying the book itself is terrible, or that the art or worldbuilding suck (though it’s kind of early to even judge that, honestly).
What people are saying is: we’re tired of rape being at the center of so many of these stories. And when defenders claim “it’s about revenge,” I just have to ask—why is rape always the go-to way to show that? Isn’t there literally any other way to write a revenge story?

And honestly, it is so good. I love both the MC and the ML. And the love and care they showed for each other omg. It's the first time in a long time that I've read a BL novel that gets me giddy at their interactions and at the development of their relationship.
