i forgot the aunties name but i feel like she isn’t in the wrong like i think she was manipulated or didn’t do it on purpose?? i think there was something else that happened bc she wouldn’t just do that to hikaru, she’s helped him this far and even felt sympathy and said earlier like she wasn’t going to let anything happen even tho she could’ve plenty of times. i think she was manipulated by the boss lady or was tricked some how, i don’t think she’s evil and even if she betrayed him she was probably acting out of fear, hopefully there’s an explanation
i just realized why i’m okay with this stories miscommunication trope, even tho i usually DESPISE them. for the MC, he believes the ML is only into risks, so by having a partner, the ML will stay with him as he just described in the latest chapter. However, ML believes because of MC partner, obviously he can’t catch feelings, he’s just a side piece, but he likes MC so he’s okay with it for now. both sides feel like they can’t be transparent bc there’s risks for both, and both risk losing each other if they’re honest bc everything is build up on a lie from both their behalfs. miscommunication tropes are usually like this, but for them the stakes feel real for both sides, like it’s understandable why they keep their distance and keep up a facade, it’s only anticipation on how that facade will fall.
I’m adding this again bc i fear more people are misunderstanding the story- its NOT A LOVE STORY
Spoiler**
The meaning of the story (my interpretation):
Dennis is meant to not trust anything, only the sheep, which sheep symbolize purity, innocence, and righteousness. Todd comes along, a wolf in sheep’s clothing (but in human clothing in this story), and Dennis falls in love with him. Think of the bible and adam and eve, todd is the serpent that tricks eve into eating the apple. Todd wasn’t real, not as a human but rather a monster not to be trusted, temptation itself.
So why does Dennis trust Todd and even fall in love with him? we can gather that Dennis is extremely alone, he does this job and becomes desperate for a connection. He’s also never experienced love, as he says at the end. His lonely and vulnerable state is perfect for Todd to exploit, he’s easy to tempt and falls right in the trap. Dennis ignored all red flags, the warning from his boss, the disappearance of Todd, and the death of the first sheep because he’s so desperate for this connection. Rose tinted glasses makes it hard to see what’s real and Dennis is completely misguided, almost blissfully ignorant. He chooses temptation, he chooses the deception of love, and it costs him his life.
This isn’t a love story, but a tragedy, and a warning about temptation and obsession. Who are the people we love, can we trust them and our judgement of the people we seem to know best? What happens when we fall in a trap, and fall too deep at that? Deception is a curse seeking those who long for love, and if we fall victim, becoming obsessed and turning naive to the curse, we fall all the way in, just like Dennis into the void.

I keep rereading the beginning of Episode 1 which the author says is set in the present- then i realized the mini chapter right before season 2 which probably has some foreshadowing.
At the end of season 1, we see articles about what happened to YW that caused him to leave and Seo In never knew what happened. It was all covered up by his mom, who had helped pay YW dad to hide the crime. I’m guessing the article ends up being published with the article attacking Seo In and Seo In finds out what really happened. This probably causes YW to be attacked or something tragic happen again- what we see in episode 1. Maybe he decides he’s going to end things with Seo In and they’re apart which is when he gets attacked. Then we saw YW in the hospital and Seo In barging in. I’m guessing this is after Seo In finds out the truth and they end up talking things out here. It might not be til the end of this season, and we’ll focus on more expository and backstories between the two then shift back to the present.
If anyone has any predictions or ideas as well I would like to hear! I’m very curious to see how the story ends up and it’s currently one of my favorites because of the complexities and tragedies of both characters
i was going to give this a chance seems like a typical smut but one chapter in and ??? did the author really have to show him cutting himself i feel like that was so unnecessary and kind of triggering?? like having that set the mood for a porn webtoon is crazy
Im sure theres a lot of stories with people harming themselves, you're acting like this is the craziest thing ever, its shocking yeah but people do this sadly pretty often to cope, i also used to self harm so the fact its being represented is kinda nice? it was unexpected but its not uncommon. Its probably triggering for a couple of people reading so if they drop cuz of that its understandable, but its a pretty decent story nontheless, hopefully it stays that way
It’s meant to bring light to the issue of self harm. Especially for men. I’ve read lots of manga and manhwa, and this is the first time I’m seeing a male character being shown in this light. It’s not common, therefore it’s like a twist because often you see this type of behaviour in female characters, and the males are the dominant ones.
idk ig for me it was just a shock and a bit triggering, it kinda made me relive those feelings for a second which i was not expecting to do seeing the tags lol. but ive read probably 200 stories and have never seen that before, so it definitely is uncommon and just that being the FIRST thing you see is a bit crazy
Omg thank you, these other replies have to be gaslighting you because there’s no way. Like there should at least be a warning. Someone else said it’s not triggering but that’s literally subjective. You don’t know how triggering that can be for someone. I feel like I don’t get triggered easily with things like that but it was just so abrupt. And to the other person that said it’s to “show the issue of SH”, there are other ways for the author to do that like simply showing the scars.I feel like the panel of just his legs w/ the scars was enough to get the message across. Also it’s insane to me how many comments there are about the pegging?? But none abt this

i’m so sick of the discourse surrounding this. i get it’s popular, but that comes with people not understanding the story or the characters at all.
firstly, this is a psychological story, its not going to be a lighthearted romance (literally look at the cover) even the art style is dark and gritty (but still stunning). yes the plot is crazy, you learn that from the first chapter so expecting something else makes no sense.
Rosa is a girl who struggles for control. she’s not had a father growing up and has had everything she’s ever wanted. she’s bored and this idea of control excites her. also her not having a father probably makes her have a bias against most men. her relationship with her mother is tested when not only does her mom bring in a man half her age and the same age as her own daughter, but also someone her daughter has had a past with. obviously rosa would be upset at this, and their past suggests they had some feelings towards each other, for rosa this being possession. she seems to be obsessive over her things but also destructive, her character is one that still needs exploring and explaining but we see the stepping stones set in place.
Yeonwu is a character we know little about, he’s had a hard past as an orphan and a history with rosa- even getting a tattoo dedicated to her. he lived his life as a male host, trying to pay off his debt when rosa’s mom basically bought him to go to second base with her, then giving him an opportunity to be in a relationship, helping him have a home and settling his debt. obviously he’d take it, we don’t know if his feelings are genuine, it’s most likely darker than we know and he could even have been groomed or just a victim of the power dynamics. we’re seeing a bit of his true character, he probably isn’t as innocent as he seems and i theorize he’s trying to seek vengeance on rosa.
Jaeon should not be the ml, all we know about him is he’s attractive and friends with rosa. he might have some romantic attraction to her but it’s mostly just lust, which is why he’s so complacent with everything she wants to do. he doesn’t actually care enough to pursue her, as long as he gets to sleep with her. he doesn’t take anything seriously either, he’s here to have fun and get by. that is not what rosa needs or obviously wants, dare i say he’s too normal for her. saying he needs to be the ml is also not understanding rosa’s character.
there’s still alot to be unraveled, Jaeon is too normal to be considered an option, he’s “safe” which is not want rosa wants. she also needs a relationship where she’s humbled, she’s always had everything so it’s time for her to want something completely unattainable. yeonwu is probably hiding his true motives and nature, rn he’s just this boy bribed by an older woman. yes he’s a victim and i’m theorizing it’s going to be mostly centered around him and rosa getting caught up in his motive by her own feelings. it’s a psychological story, not a romance but also meant to flip gender roles on their side. dare i say, men get away with being horrible red flags but the moment a woman shows an ounce of cruelty, she’s considered horrible while men get redemption arcs and praised.
i should have emphasized how much of a victim Yeongwu is, but i think that’s to highlight how women are often treated in similar stories (flipped gender roles), it’s also interesting how people seem to be more empathetic towards a male victim over a female victim and more sympathetic with a male abuser over a female who’s committed actions not nearly as bad as male abusers.

i love you for this lol, i’ve seen people commenting on josei’s that involve a lack of consent (yes, that type of media is what i’m referring to), and the way they react in comparison to just a dominant woman. No, i’m not going to reduce Rosa’s character to being just dominant and in control, we can tell she’s a developing character with layers, just like all the others, but it’s quite annoying and ironic to see the amount of people talking about how terrible this plot is and how odd it is. Meanwhile, they say nothing about the male leads in manhwas where the male is more dominant. Some people are trashing her for being abusive, but it’s alright in other manhwa? Not to mention this is definitely psychological as you said
oh my god finally someone said it - the amount of people reading this and complaining about the plot when we know little to NOTHING about the characters is crazy…either blaming Yeonwu and saying he shouldn’t be the ML because of him having a relationship with the mom or people just completely trashing the plot for no reason.
Like why are you reading it if you don’t like it? Just don’t read psychological manhwas and dont complain because the story has a bit more depth than your typical straight romance manhwa…
And it’s actually pissing me off how so many trash on Yeonwu when i believe that it’s very clear how he is probably a victim? in all of this. Of course we don’t know much. But alone having to sell his body to pay off his depth is proof enough. Literally everyone in the manhwa treats him like a manwhore / dog on a leash (even the freakin gardener like hello????) and now even some readers can’t comprehend the story and treat his character the same. Like ???? are we reading different stories here or what.
Wait where in the webtoon revealed that Yeonwu and Rosa shared a past?
I love you, thank you for explain all the characters and such. I was so filled with questions
Excellent take. Took the words out of my mouth!
Well, if you put it that way, then I’m more excited to see what else will happen in the story! I was already intrigued by the drama, but I must admit that seeing Yeonwoo with the mom kinda made me cringe at times. Knowing that he’s got some lingering attachment to Rosa(his tattoo dedicated to Rosa) because of their encounter in the past, makes his encounters with her mom confusing, distressing, and uncomfortable. His own reactions to Rosa hating him and being openly hostile also is something that speaks volume that he hides a lot behind his smile and Rosa is the only one putting a crack in his mask. Maybe because she said that she thought his smile was beautiful, when they were kids, is why he chooses to smile a lot. I think maybe he had hoped his smile will still make her happy. Idk. He might just be a weird dude now because of all that had happened to him when growing up.
FINALLY SOMEONE WITH BRAIN
While that is true, most of the comments I see in this site tend to almost romanticise rosa's behaviour saying ong yas queen abuse him more. They are always blaming yeonwoo. Regardless of gender, any form of abuse is disgusting. But pple here just tend to support one while absolutely loathing another when both are bad.
I agree most popular bl and straight to glorify redemption arc
Agreed
