That's not love babe, that's fully-fleshed stockholm syndrome. You have been manipulated, brainwashed and mentally abused by a broken person from a young age, so now you are ready to sell your soul for her. Honestly, I actually feel bad for Herman, ofc the things he did both in this and in past life were unforgivable, but I believe what he feels is not love, but trauma bonding; he feels deeply and unhealthily attached to his abuser (yes, she technically mentally abused him for years since he was a teenager)
I love how they changed the transmigrator's identity in the manhwa - in novel, she was not the real Athy but a random reader of the novel from another world. But in the manhwa, she is actually the real Athy who just forgot who she is. I think it made her relationship with her dad much more impactful, and I love her reunion scene with her mother, the mom smooching her all over lol. I think it was a really nice change
I mean it started off strong, but then it became more and more underwhelming. We didn't even get to fully understand the "god's" motive, like why did he choose the sacred lady and gave the prophechy to the temple, did he truly condemn demons or was it fully the temple's scheme, if he did really punish the demons for wielding magic (that's what Beleth says), then why did he choose Beryl knowing she would free them? How and why was she brought back to past thrice? What would happen if the Heavensgate were to open instead of Hellsgate? Would god really descend, and what would happen to demons if so?
Also, we barely saw the imperial family, only for them to appear only at the end out of nowhere, claiming they also possessed magical powers but they couldn't have been demons (?). So then, what even a demon is? Someone who just drinks from the spring of desire? Beleth says demons were once humans who wielded magic and then faced the wrath of god, then why the imperial family was not punished back then by god? Where did that spring even came from, was it created by god or by former magicians? I feel like the story started off quite good, but then the author could not develop it properly and wrapped it with lots of plotholes.
Lastly, the relationship between FL and ML felt shallow to me. ML first claimed he felt strong attraction towards her because of her "negative emotions" that felt appetizing, but idk afterwards suddenly ML became very obsessed with her, wanting to be with her 7/24, but there wasn't a deep emotional connection built between the two, so that obsession felt forced. ML, who was supposed to be the lord of all demons, a strong ruler and a being, also suddenly became more and more passive, only following FL's orders like a puppy. Overall, the romance, the characters, and the story became more and more underwhelming, and I just wanted to finish it for the sake of seeing the end of it
damn why this gem has such low ratings, MC and ML and a lot of characters are so genuine and likeable, MC is not an emotionally inept dimwit and ML is not a walking dick that just acts as an accessory for the MC. They have likeable personalities, actually work together and their dialogues feel so genuine and real. They communicate their feelings well, there is no unnecessary "misunderstanding" or cliche "amnesia", "he will be happier with someone else so let me play matchmaker" tropes. I guess for a lot of people such dramas are necessary so that's why they gave lower ratings, but if you are like me who enjoy reading good dialogues and like mature characters, you will like it too

it just rubs me the wrong way that the dark skinned twin has to be the evil one whereas the white twin is the angel and gets everything. what is with these authors and their blatant racism towards dark skinned characters smh they are either depicted as barbarian tribes or evil demons
