And the duke is such a good partner for her. He can handle the eccentric part of her, as well as rely on her. They are able to trust each other even when stuff kinda gets between them.
I like it. I like the mystery of wtf is going on w the prince, what happened to the mom, and the different relationships going on.
I liked how they separated because that truly was what they both needed in order to accept each other. I wish there was more after that, yk like them slowly getting into a relationship. When lily wrote that she is able to forgive him, them starting like it’s a new relationship would have been better. All that has been between them was misunderstanding, sorrow, guilt, and regret, they need to start anew. The started to write letters to each other, it would have been sweet to see them going into a dating phase and learning about each other that way.
I wish that part was shown. We had a whole story of those two hurting, I wish we could have seen more happiness from both of them.
But ig one thing I didn’t like was how simple the final “battle” was and how the Everette’s were brought down. What happened to that cool creepy ass artificial spirit? I’d feel like that should have been the big battle and then see Owen suffer and die.
Turned out the only one who was loyal to him w/ selfishness was Lottie, and cuz he knew she was smart he abandoned her. Even if he did love her, not visiting her for 5 YEARS??? He didn’t truly love her at all. I wish she could of berated him more but, death is a fitting end

Jk I love them. Usually I’m kinda adverse when the guy is in self denial for so long, but like, it didn’t keep kakeru from being a good partner. Satoshi is batshit crazy but in a cute way, and kakeru is a jerk but in a sweet way? Like even in the last two vols when he was like “I’m only w him for the sex”, bro completely understood him and put in effort to take care of him.
Basically they match each others freak to the point that the relationship is more healthier than others I’ve read. Hope the author gives another vol ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
That i genuinely skipped over the sex scenes cuz i was so invested.
It really got into how rotten the corruption and injustice was, and how just looking the other way leads to letting horrible crimes and suffering fester.
And the title really was accurate. No matter how much ms Jo thought she controlled everything, she boiled down all these complex people into game pieces forgetting how strong people can get to survive, just like her.
And I love the main two characters, they really fought to just live peacefully.

Not a satisfying ending. Like gurl, odette literally tried to kill u. Sure she repents but like not enough??? And there was so many things that could have been better fleshed out. Like the mls personal relationships, girls business, the characters (like the title has the friend in it, why did she become a background character? She just fucked off). And the villians had potential but it ended to easy. Ughhhhh.
The thing I like is how ml isn’t just ~mysterious~ or cold or something like that. He had his professional parts and then childish parts and i thought that was cute. He and the mc bickered a lot and the way he is to his friend and “ex”-friend is fun. But I wish it was more fleshed out.
Ya, the story could have had more depth in the different plot points but just didn’t.
Where the main character seems normal and starts out funny but there are crumbs of their personality that don’t seem like a big deal but as the story goes on and you learn more and more about the main characters background those little things are a big deal.
And the plot is plotting.

God kael looks so pretty when he cries. And Erica is so funny. Plus the original fl and ml’s relationship is funny. He tries to woo her and she’s like “HES TORMENTING ME I HATE HIMMMMMMM” and a fangirl of Erica. The prince needs some lessons from the womanizer guy.

I think in season 3 yohan is gonna “betray” victor.
I love both couples, but the main ones relationship is more intriguing since victor and yohan have their own complicated backgrounds and that yohan is basically a mole. And now specially that victor opened up fully about his past to yohan, ohhh the angst better angst.
Like yohan is a sweetheart, but doesn’t change the fact that it’s kinda fucked up to get this close to and fall in love with someone that you know ur gonna betray and hurt. But he has to in order to save the guy, but I’m wondering if after that go will go to victor, no matter what victor will do cuz of what he said in ch 74. But yk there will be some kinda angsty sex.
And i really need to know more about ians past. It’s gonna be fucked up but after victors fucked up past I’ll have to brace myself.
God I’m hoping it’ll deliver and not disappoint.

Evaldina-I don’t love her, I love her character. Her story is intriguing and i get why she ends up like that but like, she also did unforgivable things.
Acknowledging her pain and promising to share the truth about the first emperor is a good thing, but an apology on behalf of someone isn’t the same as an apology from them.
Evaldina actions should be towards the ones who wronged her, otherwise she becomes the evil that first wronged her. Like why couldn’t she have gotten the “back in time” treatment so she could get revenge on the ones who deserved it. I would read the fuck out of that.
I feel sympathy for the fact she got betrayed. Not her later. Honestly I think that makes her a great villain. Her backstory makes me feel for her, but her later actions make me hate her. She’s not evil because she’s evil, she is evil cuz there is a legitimate reason. And if that betrayal didn’t happen, then it makes u wonder, what kind of happiness could she have?
Great character, I hate her but also feel sympathy for the happiness she should have had if not for the emperor.
Ml - I liked him. He was very ditsy headed and Ig that’s very different than stuff I read. I know people said his character felt flat but honestly, the way he interpreted things and acted was interesting and funny. I mean girl didn’t need him but what’s wrong with still having him. He kinda embarrasses her but it wasn’t like he broke her heart - cuz her reason for even keeping him next to her was to project an image. And it wasn’t like he meant it bad faith. Cuz they weren’t even in a romantic stage, just fumbling with feelings where one was trying to save the kingdom and the other not knowing his emotions well.
Ig I’m biased tho. Love capable male leads but god I also like whatever type this is.

Lucian literally had therapy and was prescribed medication for whatever he had. Like, was it actually a demon, or does he have some mental illness. And what about the side effects of the potion?
Anyways, I liked the idea of a yandere getting help. Ofc the story could have been polished more but still enjoyable.

I like how they dealt with her acting out in the beginning. Kids that are neglected sometimes try to get the attention of the parents by acting out. And the way the nanny was increasing reres paranoia of being abandoned just made it worse. I do think she got better way too quickly. It feels like rere should have been more affected after the nanny leaving cuz she basically was being gaslit and abused for the first years of her life.
Also, the personality switch also got resolved wayyyy too quickly. It feels like in the middle of the story, the vibe changed.
I really liked the conflict with the emperor, it was interesting. But again, I feel like the son should have been shown to be more affected after. Also they never find out how they are related to each other???
Overall, I liked the story, but there are weaknesses that could have been improved on. Specially tying the first half and second half better.
I really enjoyed the inside of the mansion and the game like mechanics. I thought it was so interesting how the levels pertained to her life and we slowly realize that they both were who the mansion was about and was a curse. Once they left the mansion it became an extremely different vibe and was still interesting but rn it’s just getting crazier and crazier and lowkey I just wanna see how it ends. It was cool to see that the game is still on outside the mansion, but it’s not the same.
Atp, I think it’s better to kill the kid and just rest. All the people just should die. I don’t say this out of ill will, but they literally are just suffering and suffering. Even Noah.
It’s dragging on, still interesting but I’m not even rooting for dietrich and Charolette to be together. I just need both of them to be free of the curse.
And it was interesting to see both go crazy but i liked the characters when they were in the mansion. Honestly, that’s where they both seemed the happiest in this timeline.
Poor Charolette, she was born into a horrible family with a dad that sees her as a tool and a brother who obsessively wants to control her regardless if she suffers or not. And now she can’t even escape in death since the curse will keep her in the suffering. And poor Dietrich, as much as Ik it’s not her fault, him meeting her probably was the worst thing that happened to him. That brother better get the worst ending. Being locked in that box isn’t enough.
But ya, I really enjoy the earlier chapters and will reread them. The later ones I will read to see what happens but I def won’t reread them.

Honestly I think it’s done good. It goes over the place but like honestly, it kinda fits. I haven’t gotten to any spot where I feel like it’s dragging. I’m around chapter 60 so i haven’t seen the ending but I’m enjoying it. Some parts are weak but didn’t take away from my enjoyment (like the princesses death and the fact she used dark magic should of been a bigger deal)

I want to know more of the princess and servant, what actually happened to the servant (did she die????), why she was hooked on ml (cuz I still am not clear on that), her actual feelings towards mc (cuz the explanation was too simple for something as complex as that), like why did she go THAT far to go against mc. She was skipped over way too fast.
Like did she start falling for her which made her hate her even more? The hate towards her cannot just be cuz she is with ml.
Damn I wished she was more against her parents cuz they were the ones who crushed her love.
