one thing i hate about this is that the mc is often a damsel in distress and that he has to save her so many times (even help her do her goddamn job… like bruh). idk why it’s so hard for authors to write a female mc that for once doesn’t need constant help from the male love interest. the saving grace to this story is that he looks like He Tian my man
the tree one was the one that got me. she’s a professional at her job and a guy that has no idea helps her do the job she’s done for years?? it makes no sense and felt like a weird situation to make him aura farm. even if she ends in dangerous situations, i wish that at least her personality was more steady and her attitude a bit sharper. i’m just tired that still decades later female mc’s still get written off as this helpless persona. studies literally prove that women are often more emotionally intelligent and got their shit together, so why do they always get stupidfied in media?? bruh
after re-reading this and paying attention to every detail, i have to say the author is pretty good at writing a story. there’s a lot of foreshadowing and hints in the story about min hoyeon’s character (his true nature and also the family situation). i just hope that that same attention to detail and depth will be applied to the relationship between the jaesung and him.
i like how we suddenly got some honesty in all the vagueness that was going on. this entire season was just them fucking with no communication (which eli prolly wanted it to be that way, avoidant mf). the first actual reflective moment happens just now and it’s nearly the end of the season. i really hope the author explores more of the emotional complexity of this relationship instead of just throwing a bunch of chaotic fucking in there… bc then this series could become something so much more than just a cheap abusive relationships posing as some form of non-con bdsm relationship. the art style is too great and the artistic direction (with the fashion sense and even the little photoshoot covers) is really creative, so it would be a shame to have this manhwa end as just fap material for the freaks.

on the one hand, knowing you’ve been getting cheated on must be ass, but why is mf a manipulative dipshit. if he wasn’t so ass their relationship could’ve been healthy and the “cheating” never would’ve happened. sucks to be him ig
they’re not “dating” really, and gyeom literally sleeps with women while him and baekhee are “together”, he just sees baekhee as a belonging
at what point was it mentioned he sleeps with women? i feel like i missed this information
in chapter 5, “coming from the same guy who’s been screwing around with every girl in town” Jang Baekhee said to Gyeom. Unless i’m interpreting it wrong but either way what they have together is in NO means a relationship at all, it’s control and domination. Gyeom doesn’t feel for Baekhee, he sees him as a “pet” and something he has ownership over in a way. (comparing him to a dog, ordering him around) ect
by the way, in no means am i sending this in a rude tone, hope it doesn’t come off that way!
oh, yeah that can be interpreted many ways. i agree with what you’re saying. with relationship i wasn’t implying anything. any kind of connection someone has with someone else is considered a relationship. i’m not calling them boyfriends, they just got a dynamic going, where one party expects exclusivity. but a dynamic where one person is the manipulator, holding the reigns to keep their “partner” from leaving, and the other is a traumatized person, trying to use this person to get away from their abuser, is still a relationship. sometimes, not everything must be nit picked and disagreed with. no offense, but it was obvious what i meant, no need to discuss the semantics of a word i used.
Sorry if it was coming off nitpicky! I’ve just been debating people for defending gyeom and I must’ve accidentally carried that over to here, I apologize!
you’re good. with no real body language, what someone writes on the internet can be interpreted a thousand ways (unless i add a billion footnotes to explain what i mean with each word)
