I completely understand what you mean but a HUGE majority of overseas readers of this type of work tend to be under the age of 20(and 18) so they tend to believe this type of stuff works out as they aren't experienced enough or just want something unrealistic..(which I find strange)
Well that's my point - I think that's exactly the problem - the majority of girls reading this are around 15-18 - because this is not actually Josei - it's not shojo - it's just porn for teenage girls - and just as bad as actual porn is for teenage boys - because they read this and think - well this is what a relationship should be like - this is what sex should be like - which is just so sad because then they will become so unhappy when they meet real life

I actually switched to mostly yaoi cos I find it's easier to find decent plots there - I know I used to read some good Josei as well but I wouldn't be able to remember the names - but a good place to start is - look for Japanese manga - not Korean manhwa

Why is the storyline so bad?!!! Omg it's just SO! BAD!! He wants a frilly romance but he dumps a guy he supposedly liked and had an ideal (in his eyes) story with cos his dick is small?? Through a note??!!? He wants a big dick but he has no experience in sex??? Why does the dick matter so much then??? How does he know it's what he wants??? Yes, I know - don't like it, don't read etc., bring all the hate - but also maybe some actual comments - I'm genuinely curious. I saw this manhwa some time ago - liked the art on the cover - read a few chapters - thought it was crap - stoped reading; but then I kept seeing it in the popular section, and when I checked it was in the top 5 most popular yaoi overall (and I thought the first few chapters of Painter of the Night were crap with beautiful art, and I am so obsessed right now) so I thought I'd give it another go and read till the latest chapters uploaded atm - and I am just so confused (⊙…⊙ ) I mean, ok - I get that this type of art is popular now - but WHAT ELSE IS THERE??? Don't get me wrong - I completely understand that ppl have different tastes and there are popular works there that I personally don't like but at least I understand WHY others do - but this one is just ╮(￣▽￣)╭

It is so infuriating to me that complex, gritty, intense, beautiful manga like this is ranked 8.7 while plastic korean AI slop is constantly featured and getting over 9 rating! Like - BJ Alex is just as problematic as this one, and granted - it is one of the better plastic ones - but it has no business being in the top 5 - and Yours to Claim is, frankly, complete crap - how is it among 3 most popular ranked yaoi while a masterpiece like Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai is not even top 50! I get that ppl like different genres and I get brain porn, but I feel this is part of the alconsuming trend of ppl consuming cheap disposable things, and it is aggravating to me. There, I said it - now throw all your slippers at me ╮(￣▽￣)╭
honestly i feel u.....korean bls are mass produced and 80% of them are so bland with no inetresting storyline and characters ....like dont get me started on the overuse of sex in literallly every 6-7 chapters and its not even done in a way which is coherent to he story ...just for veiws ......{i know its not the truth for EVERY one of them but it is generic and MOSTLY done}

korean bl authours have so much potential of writing a good story but they always give priority to the smut in the story and ....its juts disapointing ..because the charcters lose their charm when half of the time they are fucking and literaly everywhere.......

No - yeah, I agree there are some good ones, but the mass produced plastic slop is just flooding everything - I would say it's even more than 80% - and so when it's slightly better - it gets to the top spots and that's what the overwhelming majority of readers see - that's what really upsets me.
The thing is - I gravitated towards yaoi around 10-15 years ago - just for this reason. Then - the majority of other genres were flooded with cheap Japanese manga (although it was still not as bad as the cheap stuff now imo, just because the technology was not there yet) - good stuff could be found, but the proportion of good stuff in yaoi was better...
