I don' know, I find it quite refreshing. I read a lot of fanfiction so sometimes yaoi, especially korean yaoi tend to irk me out with how they depict certain aspects of queerness. Don't get me wrong, when toxicity is done right it can be a good aspect of the plot but most of the time I enjoy seeing characters seeking out consent.
ps: I haven't read a single chapter yet but seeing the cover-art (I know don't judge a book by it's cover—anyways lol) I'm assuming one of the core aspects of this story is BDSM and consent is very sexy in BDSM.

As for myself, I find few things as hot as when someone ask for consent. I think it proves real attraction. It can’t be misunderstood as him only chasing his own pleasure and/or only seek to satisfy his own desire. “Can I suck you off?” feels equal to “I really want to give you this kind of pleasure.” A positive answer shows “I want this too.” and that proves the attraction is mutual. Asking if he can suck him off also prove that he would find the act pleasurable to do, but only if he wants him to. = it wouldn’t be pleasurable if they didn’t both desire it.
Agree, but I think OP was just saying they don’t like the phrase “suck you” itself and would probably prefer the translations to use “blow you” instead.
Yeah, I think so too. That's why I explained why I like "Can I suck you off?", instead of just leaving a short "I like it." I don't have any problems with it because above reasons.
