As an artist i will tell you what we living right now: mass unemployment. No jobs anymore for new artists. Our drawings are stolen by ai, sometimes people sell our art under their name, sometimes they do a fake account of artists. Our cute art also go in porn ai without our consent and our characters are shown raped in ai generated images. Some artists dont post anymore, depressed or just affraid to be stolen. I know i will get a lot of ha ha comments but i find it sad that we are destroying human skill to feed capitalist greed
imma beat anyone's ass who takes this as a joke. it's so disheartening to see all the ai 'artists' take over everything in real time. i only draw as a hobby, but seeing them all over my tiktok fyp is so weird. you've got people threatening to feed ur art to ai if u don't agree with what they say. i'm sure it's really tough out there in the job market.
anyone that makes fun of your struggles needs a pencil shoved so far up their ass, the dentist will be picking at lead. But genuinely it's so disheartening to see AI hold any semblance of control over something that makes life enjoyable, what festers emotion and intellectuality.

You are so right and I'm with you on this. I don't have much things to say that would make this situation better. Also once I saw a video that gives an insight into the Chat GPT CEO's motivations and the way it operates and it's pretty twisted. So I think letting these kind of people from tech and the capitalist greed let loose promises us a grim future.
But I believe the key is for the art community to be united, more than ever! One example is looking up people that have the same opinion on the subject and are actively sharing ressources to fight against Ai and continue to happily create. I found the trolling that artists do, trying to contaminate AI and sharing how to do so, satisfying to watch as well.
One time I was searching on Google and reddit for some infos about anti-AI communities and organisation and I found some ressources there (in the comments)

Also the reddit where it was posted is also pro-artist
So yeah a general advice about how to gain back empowerment despite the circumstances is 1) to find solace in a group where you channel your energy into something positive and productive (doing art together). 2) from time to time check what actions are done against IA or for artists to see if you can join (could be as little as online petitions)
One exemple of positive art that I really is Solarpunk because it explores a better version of our future
