Ngl this has an interesting premise esp in the earlier chapters. But it slowly fell flat? Idk if there's a novel or what but if there is, the adaptation is bad. There's too much cut scenes, jumping to time skip without explaining the current events and instead having too much flashbacks. Like what happened with the mc and the archduchess' first meeting? They're about to talk about the previous empress murder but why is it skipped? Then why can't we see the background of prince's life? About details of his mercenary group. Another that is questionable is mc's family. How did her parents died? Is that family curse is really a lie? There's soo much questions about the plot but nothing is explained.
Also i ain't going to lie the story would probably be far more interesting if it takes place in mc's third life where mc met the crown prince in the jail. Mc can help the ml's curse then both of them can escape tgt with the aides. Then they plot another rebellion secretly and during that they'll fall in love.

Okay this is a very very weird adaptation. I read the novel and the manhwa doesn’t depict the eerieness or the mystery in the novel. They have this weird back and forth pacing too. The first chapter is adapted from chp 12-14 ish, The scene where the ml killed the beast and fcked the knight happened before the first chapter (he dgaf about mc and fcked his attendant instead), scene where mc was scared by the cross is in chp 2 in novel etc. it’s a really odd choice bc the manhwa missed all the lore and the reasons why both mc and ml acted like that. For example the tavern scene happened before ml drank mc’s blood. The reason why mc ask to spend the night with the prettiest person was bc he love pretty things and he saw the red hair courtesan in the tavern. But the cat brought the prince instead. Idk why the storyboard changed drastically, the pace is too fast.
also their characters changed a lot. The mc is not as goofy as this. They also didn’t adapt how annoying and demanding the cats are. Tbh it’s better to just read the novel. The artstyle doesn’t fit with the story either. I’m not saying the art is bad, it’s good but I think artstyles like stepmother marchen, secret lady, i tamed my ex husband’s mad dog would fit it better

Maybe i’m a minority but i feel like the art is so much better at the beginning. From chapter 20ish to the end their faces become longer and eyes getting bigger. It makes them looks uncanny esp yeonwoo but anyway, the story is just very mid. It’s not as bad as ppl in the comment said but it’s also not good at all. If i can score it’s 4,5/10. Both the leads are frustrating and idiots.
Yeonwoo was promising at the start, like he actually can stood his ground and call out keith’s bullshit but then he’s suddenly stupid in love and naive. Like i get why he’s mad keith is kissing the attendant but at the same time you don’t have the right to get angry. You’re not keith’s bf. Idk how his ass assume they’re dating when keith literally dgaf about his confession. Ngl i be tweaking everytime everyone in the story said yoohan is plain looking. Like bro wdym he’s gorgeous!! This feels like izuku situation all over again anyway this is a very good story, the author succeeds making the readers want to punch the villains and yoohan is a really great character. Though i’m gonna be honest i’m not really liking jay. He’s a good character at the start!! But he’s slowly turning really annoying esp since he keep forcing himself to yoohan and threatening him. He also never listens to yoohan’s nonstop rejection during sex so i can’t get into their supposed romantic dynamic. It’s still a good read tho! 4/5
Really really enjoy this manhwa. It doesn't have a flashy complicated plot with difficult scheming and political play, but it's still enjoyable. The comedy is so funny esp the chibis!! Ik some ppl hate the fl bc she's too greedy but like, the title is literally Materialistic Lady of course she would be greedy af. And sometimes we need a fl with a bit fucked up moral than the usual overly kind and justified fl. I love the ml too. He may be emotionless but he's not boring. He has a fun dynamic with rose and it's a pity their lovey dovey moment are too little in this manhwa. The other characters can be quite annoying like ardin and the emperor. The villain empresses are pathetic too cuz why are you cursing and targeting innocent person instead of the fckass emperor?
Also I see many complaint why rose needs the soul ball to make anoch fall in love and their love is shallow since the prince will fall for anyone who had that ball. But the thing is that ball doesn't make anoch fall for rose, the crystal ball is merely an outlet or like a key to help open up anoch's lost emotions. Anoch fall bc of rose herself, not because of the ball. If it was about the ball, then why would he get angry at rose during their first life when she stole it from the ogfl? I do get sad with first rose bc her life was miserable. Poor and your fiance you had a crush on fall in love with someone else call her peter parker with the way she never win in her life
