I don't know if anyone will read this but I have a theory. towards the end of the latest manga chapter kumoko says (in her mind) that she's not sure what D wants/what her true goals are but that she was willing to help if D asked only because D has helped her so far. so here is where I say hear me out... what if D's motivation is purely based in laziness and a little sick twisted entertainment ? what if she manipulated this whole situation from the very beginning ? like going to the human realm and having the previous demon lord and hero discovering the truth about D and their world beginning ? so that she would HAVE to reincarnate a body double when they both attempted to attack D. what if her true goal was to have kumoko take her place, manipulating her from the very beginning into godhood and now potentially into a personality copy of her too so that she can do whatever she wants in the human realm and essentially take a long vacation while kumoko tends to D's godly duties/subordinates ? idk it's just something to think about.
I think this theory has merit. It certainly aligns w/ the idea that D will work really hard to keep slacking off.
