i know that its fiction and fiction does not have to be 1:1 with reality. regardless, i do wish they added proper warnings in the beginning (aka "dont do this in real life, if youre interested in it then do proper research first") bc this portrayal is especially incorrect with reality (dont choke people till they pass out they will genuinely get brain damage), though i did appreciate that richard did mention compression of just the artery, not the entire neck, so the author did do some research definitely
its still better than the sadistic beauty "warnings" tho (calling violent rape "extreme bdsm" lmfao)
havent read the novel but thank you for sharing! im glad they did add a warning in the novel, though the manhwa creators shouldve definitely added one too. there are a lot of incorrect and outright dangerous portrayals (im not talking about in the doghouse specifically, im thinking of other novels/manhwa/etc) with 0 indication that they shouldnt be followed, and while choking is more "mainstream" than other kinks, there are not a lot of resources for proper techniques to do it "safely" (since its impossible to choke someone with 0% risk), which leads people to look towards fiction for guidance
this is a genuine question, but why do (some of) you want heiner to suffer more? the entirety of his life up until he met annette WAS suffering, both in his home country and when he was taken hostage, he has words literally cut into his chest so he can't ever forget it. annette realized the amount of suffering he already went through and didn't want to put him through more, why do some of you want him to suffer now??
They feel like he hasn't suffered enough, which I feel like he already has. Some people can't forgive means which is fine. Some can let things go, others can't and that's just the way of the world. In the beginning I disliked him for what he did and held onto that for many many chapters, but then you see what drove him to that, not to say Annette was the culprit cause she was the victim in all of this and that will not change. You come to realize though that Heiner was one too, which didn't really excuse what he did to Annette. I mean she tried to off herself like three times. That period of this story broke my heart . Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that a lot of people feel like death or torture is punishment, and yet that filthy ugly feeling in the pit of their stomachs will never go away, no matter how much someone pays for their crimes. It's sad but true
mhm i get what you mean, i also believe what he did to annette is not to be glanced over and i also did heavily dislike him in the beginning. however, i much prefer what happened with his character, bc he actually understood what he did wrong, apologized and changed. thats way more impactful than just him suffering more, bc if a person does smth bad, unless they realize what they did and do things to rectify it, no amount of suffering they go through after matters. i get still disliking him definitely and not wanting them to be together, to some people what he had done has gone past the point of no return and that is understandable. but more suffering to him (and what sort of suffering do they want? for him to be more injured in war? lose an arm? an eye? what would be sufficient suffering? though this mentality of "disability is punishment" is a little weird in my mind. or what other suffering is appropriate in their mind.) would not help in any sort of way, especially after he did change. it just feels pointless, just for the sake of suffering and not for annette or anything productive. thank you for the reply!!
I just wanted him to finally leave Annette alone forever and go the fuck away. Like, he did so much to her to the point where she tried to off herself and even then he wouldn't leave her alone. If he just stop trying to involve himself and just got news about her as he is somewhere far the hell away, then I would stop hoping for him to suffer more

Im ending it all
