As I’ve gotten older I’ve started to go back and re-read manga that I read when I was younger and really liked! However now I’m just like “what the heck that is so toxic!” Or “how did I ever think that sort of relationship was cute?!” Lol
For example lovely complex. I recently re-read some of it and was just like dang he was pretty mean to her. Or inuyasha even.
What about you guys?
I'd have to say, as I've gotten older I felt the same with a lot of the manga I've read, but at the same time, I also realize that just because it's not an ideal relationship, it doesn't mean it wasn't any less of a fun read or experience when you first read it or reread it now! I don't condone toxic relationships but sometimes I just wanna read a no thoughts head empty manga from the early 2000s that doesn't feel the need to make great romantic social commentary lol(though, honestly I don't mind it when manga do do that, it's actually quite interesting!). Besides, not is wrong with saying you had fond memories of something when you were younger, but now it's just not for you :D
Same... Like you still like it but you're not in love with it. I mean I personally still like those that I've watched and rewatch them from time to time but I can really say that some of the plots were iffy, inconsistent, toxic and what not. Like I remember wolf girl and black Prince loved that a lot before and now I think that Erica and Kyoya were toxic asf. I felt that Erica didn't have any sort of appreciation for herself no character and well it just wasn't the best. Kyoya don't get me started with him. Never want to date anyone like that.
I was reading this manga about the girl being the player in the relationship and the boy was also a player but he ends up falling for the main girl. They also start out as friends with benefits but I cant remember the name of the manga. The main girl also had long black hair. Does anyone remember a manga similar to this one?
There was this manga I read years ago and I’m trying to find it again. I pretty much forgot most of it but I do remember the characters had a group chat that had the same name as a constellation. I think it was Polaris??
What's the genre??
I cant quite remember because it was so long ago. I just remember that all the characters were suffering in some way and found comfort joining this online group chat and talking to each other.
