I feel the anime did a way better job of pacing and story telling. It made more sense to make him hesitant to go along with the goddess after everything that happened and to wait until the very last moment to forge the pact. Whereas the manga made it seem like not a big deal. Which is super weird for me to say since usually it’s the other way around. I also prefer his character’s disposition in the anime.

I’ve only read the first two chapters, but I am super confused on whats going on. Like I get they’re in a ghost story but the way they’re explaining it makes it sound like he’s a part of it as an employee but also not? Idk I’m just really confused as to what the ML’s role is. The premise sounds good but all the text and the skipping around throws me off and not in a good way.
Wait it lowkey explains it better in the novel, also this scan is actually missing some panels. Basically he is from a different world - this world has a really popular internet creepypasta universe that anybody can add to. It had a bunch of lore that people would make stories around. One of the pieces of lore is that there is a company (Daydream inc) that explores all these ghost stories. The ML read a bunch of these internet stories for fun, but then one day gets sucked into this world after winning the lottery at the pop-up store. So where u are in the story now is that he’s a new hire, but they have a death game that weeds out any weak new hires to see who is truly fit for the company. He’s in that death game.
Ohhh okay that makes more sense then. So is the day dream company a part of the real world he is from? I’m just confused on whether he is actually an employee from a real company in his world or if that company is part of the horror world he is now in.
sorry to barge into this conversation lmao but without delving too much into spoilers. Soleum does also work in a company from his world. What that company is specifically, I believe it was never mentioned properly, just that he was in a position where he has to appeal to superiors as much as possible
The company is part of the horror, he basically got "trasmigrated" into a horror world. That being the Daydream Company.
Ahh got it thank you!
The MC got isekai'd to horror novel (kinda) where he works for R18 Monster Inc. where instead of scaring kids to fill helium tank with scream (or laugh), they delve into nightmares to get mysterious liquid.
The company could produce miracle drugs from these liquids and the workers are enticed to stay employed with promise of their best product, some kind of wish granting elixir, if they keep working and save points.
He gets Isekaied into a another world and woke up mid company interview (The train thing) If u know what's SCP, it's practically like that but this time he enters into different ghost stories to collect their essence somewhat like monster Inc. where the monsters collect the screams of children for electricity. The reason behind the dream essence is that it's used to make the company's portions and products that they sell. So like the MC's goal here is to get a wish ticket, that glowing potion seen in earlier chapters that grants any wish of the user. This wish ticket is actually the reason y ppl join this fked up "cult like job" to earns points to buy a wish ticket to grant their wish. So since the MC isn't from this world and hates ghost stories, he wants to use that wish ticket to get back home.
The novel explains a lot on detail compared to the manwha, that is visualy appealing but the pacing is off....
Tbh, the novel starts when he was in his OG world not mid orientation so it kinda made it confusing with it's fast pace.
I totally recommend to read the novel cuz it's clear and very funny cuz u can see the inner monologue of the MC, but in the manhwa, they tonned his thoughts a lot so u don't see him calling himself "A coward" many times...The MC's motto is like "I am a coward" and "I want to go home"...
