Nvm, after reread it again she is...

To me it just feels like she's really stretching the limits of her ability, hence the nosebleed, OR the lightning bolts and zaps could be visualizing that she unlocked a new development in her ability (like a level up), OR your theory might be right and she's having her telepath battle with Desmond.

Either way, it's thrilling.

???? I mean, I'm down to explain but there's a lot to go over if it's from the beginning, so exactly how in-depth of a recap do you need?

Basic run-through up until the flashback, Loneal started the school year with the mindset of avoiding Alec and Lily to keep the novel on track, neither cooperate, Alec finding every excuse to hang around him, Lily always having "something come up" that leaves him and Alec alone together. Loneal, too caught up on the novel's canon and his place within it, interprets Alec's initial behaviour as suspicion of him, so when Alec confesses and completely switches attitude post-love potion, he believes it was due to that. He feels guilty for a lot of things, but every time he tries to distance himself for the sake of the novel's storyline, the world creates a situation that forces him to rely more on Alec, and Alec takes every opportunity to initiate emotional and physical intimacy.

After Cain's second attack with the magical beast, Loneal awakens the powers of the Holy Bride, but Alec's initial uncertainty convinces him they're just similar, and has him promise not to use them in front of anyone else. Zeno, the main villain at this point, becomes interested in the current Loneal after hearing Alec miraculously recovered from an injury that only the Holy Bride's powers could heal completely, and initiates a fake friendship by helping him sneak Alec's gift past the Public Morals Committee. He also realizes from Alec's very irritable attitude towards him, that their relationship is very much not just "close friendship".

After Alec helps Loneal honour his contract with the Public Morals Committee leader Noah, and "clear" the magic buildup in his body, Loneal confesses to having lost his memories after the accident. Along with his explanation that he didn't want to cause more problems for his family, Alec realizes what issues Loneal had been struggling with when they first met while he was Chris, and why Loneal had been trying so hard to stay positive, then and now. He's upset hearing that Loneal's problems are more serious than he'd thought, but Loneal tries to ease the mood by saying that while he's anxious not knowing what he'd been up to before, he knows at least that he loves this world so he'll be okay. Alec admires how surprisingly resilient Loneal is, unchanging in his optimism despite the grim situation he's in, and swears a Knights Oath to protect him, Loneal swearing an oath of his own to get stronger so he can protect Alec too.

Thanks to Alec's magic assistance, Loneal is finally able to make potions by summer, however he's limited to beginner-level potions, and falls asleep immediately afterwards. Alec, now more overprotective after the oath, worries about his magic fatigue, and when Loneal gets dejected at how little he's improving, Alec suggests checking out a legend about a spring of Holy Water said to improve magic abilities during summer vacation. Loneal recognizes it as a location in in the second book and gets excited, but expresses concern about leaving Lily out, who overhears and invites herself along with her butler Seth.

Summer break comes and the four of them venture out to the coastal land, Lily gets motion sick from the carriage ride so Alec and Loneal go into town together. While in town, they visit a shop from the novel and Alec gives Loneal a bracelet with a protective pearl. As they're exploring the streets enjoying street food, they run into Zeno, who just so happens to be in the area for a festival. They decide to attend the festival with Zeno, and during it Alec and Lily go to meet with the local lord for a bit while Loneal takes a rest. Zeno checks on him, but ends up forced to rest himself because he looks way worse. While Loneal is freaking out over him, Zeno accidentally admits to suffering from what he describes as "a nightmare that doesn't end even when he wakes up", before realizing his mistake and trying to brush it off as a strange book he'd read. Loneal doesn't buy it and decides to cheer him up with festival fun. Zeno attempts to flirt with Loneal but is stopped by the returning Alec's hostile glare. He tries again later by dancing with Loneal, but is once again foiled by Alec, only getting a momentary victory by kissing Loneal's cheek when they part ways afterwards, getting a reaction from both Alec and Lily.
While Loneal takes care of Alec's poor mood, Zeno schemes as usual.

They visit the temple the following day, and after an earthquake Alec and Loneal fall into the collapsing floor and can't climb back out, initially deciding to stay put while Lily and Seth go for help, they end up following a bearded seal who took a liking to Loneal. They reach a room with strange black smoke and a collapsed staircase, and the protective bracelet Alec bought shatters before two blasts of magic come aimed at straight at Loneal, along with a rain of black liquid, which severely wounds Alec when he shields Loneal. Loneal panics and uses his Holy Bride powers, which not only heal Alec, but disperses the black smoke and heals the hooded Zeno attacking them, proving his suspicions correct. Loneal checks that Alec is fully healed, before his magic fatigue hits and he chooses to fall off the cliff next to them so Alec won't be stuck protecting him when he passes out. He's saved by the seal, who'd signalled him before the fall, but is paralyzed by a strange unbearable pain. The seal cries out for help, summoning the travelling bard, Orsa, who heals Loneal with magic-infused music, later explaining that he can't heal physical afflictions, just psychological.

A worried Orsa convinces Loneal to rest at his campsite instead of rushing ahead to Alec, and gives him a whistle to blow if he's ever in danger, which will alert any of Orsa's animal friends, like Angela the bearded seal, who will then let Orsa know to come save him anywhere in the world. During their conversation Alec shows up, objecting to Loneal's declaration that he would jump off a cliff again for his sake. Loneal apologizes for being reckless, and the two rest a bit more with Orsa, who seems to have recognized Alec immediately. As they bid farewell, Alec contently watches Loneal say goodbye to Angela, while Orsa watches Alec, appearing satisfied before waving the two off. Heading deeper into the temple, Alec explains what happened after Loneal fell, managing to outsmart, however in the process unknowingly revealing to Zeno the key he's been looking for to Alec's downfall; his obsession with Loneal awakens the dark magic latent within the royal bloodline.

After defeating Zeno, Alec finds the bag Loneal had left behind, with a potion inside for him to take, muttering to himself that Loneal has been protecting him since the first time they'd met. Back to the present he tells Loneal that the hooded man was different from the previous one with the magic beast, and the two finally reach the deepest part of the temple. They drink the Holy Water, Alec unlocks the ability to use water magic as he had in the novel, and Loneal ends up intoxicated. Alec once again "heals" Loneal, and they make it back to the room they'd fallen into, but Lily and Seth haven't returned. Alec uses his new water powers to build an ice staircase up, and along with people footprints they find beast ones as well. They discover Seth gravely injured, who tells them they were attacked by a hooded man and a beast, and that Lily was kidnapped. Loneal sends Alec ahead to save Lily while he heals Seth, now able to use his powers at will like novel Lily, and without magic fatigue. He catches up to Alec in time to stop him from killing Cain, noting a concerning aura from Alec. When they return to the vacation villa, Loneal brings Alec food, who recaps what happened when he chased after Lily. Having caught up to Cain, the two have a back and forth before Cain, still bitter about Loneal's "betrayal", first tries to get under Alec's skin with the original Loneal's supposed duties to harass Alec, only getting a reaction when he questions why the explosion changed Loneal so much. Alec interprets this as him having something to do with Loneal's accident and demands answers, the hooded man questions whether Loneal is more important to him than his fiancee before further provoking Alec by telling him their leader could kill Loneal at any moment and to be careful of letting the people he cares about our of his sight. Alec is shaken, and the dark magic manifests with a voice in his head urging him to kill Cain, almost giving in when Loneal showed up to stop him.

Loneal is upset at hearing the original Loneal really had been Alec's enemy, though to note, as of now only Cain has ever said anything related to this. Zeno's initial intent with Loneal was primarily to get to Lily when he thought she was the Holy Bride, and Alec himself didn't even know who Loneal was before the accident, so it seems og Loneal may have been threatened to harass Alec but he didn't have the heart to do it before he was replaced by current Loneal. Anyway, Alec confesses that he can't seem to control himself when it comes to Loneal and worries Loneal is disillusioned that he's not as perfect as everyone thinks, but Loneal objects, and after a back and forth of Alec questioning whether Loneal would still accept him if he gave up the throne or disgraced himself as prince and Loneal promising nothing would make him think lesser of Alec, Alec's worries are eased, though the voice in his head is still a concern. When Alec falls asleep, Loneal goes to talk to Lily, having decided after the Holy Water incident that he couldn't hide things from her anymore. He confesses to having feelings for Alec, and is thrown off when she smiles in response, only asking whether he had been happy when she was kidnapped or Seth was injured, to which he says absolutely not to both. She's satisfied with his answer, saying that while she was shocked at first (unclear exactly what she means by "was", though based on her gauging Alec's reaction to Zeno kissing Loneal it seems she picked up on the relationship at some point, not that Alec has ever bothered trying to hide it), she has no problems with it if it's Loneal. When he questions further, her being Alec's fiancee and all, Lily herself confesses to having fallen in love with her butler.

Apparently the og Loneal had been visibly distressed leading up to the accident, she hadn't had the confidence to ask him about it, and on the day of the explosion he finally tried to confide in her, but she brushed him off to focus on her Queen Candidacy studies, promising to talk the following day. Lily, riddled with guilt for not having been there for him when he needed her like he had always done for her, dedicated herself fully to caring for the comatose Loneal, neglecting her own health, leading to Seth having to step in. She admits to Seth what had happened before the accident and ends up relying on him for emotional support until Loneal finally woke up, and afterwards continued confiding in him until eventually realizing she'd fallen in love. She tells Loneal she had wanted to confront the engagement for awhile, but made a promise to Alec, most likely related to the conversation they'd had in the beginning after Loneal's first rejection of Alec's intent to cancel the engagement, though Loneal is too distracted by his distress to hear this part. He returns and locks himself in his room to have another breakdown because no matter how hard he tries he feels he's only ruining his favourite novel even more, realizing that his plan at the beginning was doomed to fail from the start, as Lily had already been in love with someone else. Probably won't be the last breakdown like this, he'll find out eventually that Alec had also already been in love with him before the school year started.

Alec does a cliche and throws stones at his balcony door, having come to lure him out after hearing Loneal had skipped dinner and been holed up in his room. He comforts Loneal, and the vacation comes to a close with a barbeque by the beach the next day, Loneal saying that he and Lily now exchange love advice, and that while he no longer feels guilty he's still feels odd about the whole thing. He sneaks off to think about what he needs to do next, Alec joins him for a bit before Lily interrupts to say she recalled the other hooded man mentioning a "failure". Zeno watches from the distance, his target now shifted entirely from Lily to Loneal.

School starts up again, and Loneal can now make intermediate and advanced level potions. He goes over the recipe for the love potion in hopes of trying his hand at making it, but realizes that of the seven ingredients listed only two seem to have any legitimate purpose. He accidentally breaks the potion-making tool while trying to figure out the discrepancy, and Zeno shows up claiming to have heard Loneal's voice on his way to the Magical Research Club. He starts flirting with Loneal again, but Loneal doesn't pick up on it and is instead worried that he's had another nightmare. Zeno is caught off guard, but rolls with it and says he hasn't had any since the festival, then confesses to having fallen in love with Loneal. Loneal doesn't know how to respond, Zeno attempts to push harder before Alec steps in again and pulls Loneal away, declaring that he can't accept that. Zeno, irritated by Alec once again getting in his way, says it seems problematic for Alec to control on his "friend's" love life, but Alec doesn't relent. Loneal is in a daze over the incident, until the class holds a meeting about what event to hold for the school festival. He gets excited over the proposals, all of which revolve around Alec, but begins to feel jealous overhearing the female students gushing over Alec. He freaks out, and when Alec tries to talk to him about what happened with Zeno he runs off with the excuse of the dealing with the broken club property, not wanting Alec to find out about his jealousy. He avoids Alec the following day, but is ambushed after school and "interrogated". Alec asks what happened between him and Zeno during summer, whether they'd met alone any time afterward, and what he intends do about the confession. Loneal answers honestly to all, stating he doesn't understand Zeno's actions but intends to reject him nonetheless as he only sees him as a friend. Loneal however refuses to answer why he had been avoiding Alec, Alec continuing the "interrogation" until Loneal confesses vaguely to not wanting Alec to see how conflicted he'd been, Alec apologizes for being mean and Loneal admits he's afraid that he keeps getting greedier.

Their class eventually decides to hold a historical play on the founding of Garcium, and Alec nominates Loneal to write it. They go to the library to research, Loneal hurts his ankle falling from a ladder, they bond over their shared passion for the kingdom's history and while they're going through the books Loneal notices that of the first King's five children, the first prince is only mentioned up until the second prince takes the throne, with no explanation of what happened to him or why the second prince became king instead. Alec says he himself questioned it when he was younger, but that his father only told him he would "understand when he's King". They part ways when leaving the library, but when Loneal visits the nurse's office to get a compress for his ankle Alec shows up, having been sent to return a lost item, understanding Loneal not wanting to bother him but unhappy about him hiding an injury. They're interrupted by a pair of students looking for the nurse, Alec hides them knowing Loneal doesn't like the attention being around Alec brings, but decides to pull a prank and scare the students into thinking Loneal's moans are a ghost. He tries go further after, but Loneal manages to stop him, as he has plans to visit the Magical Research Club the following day. Alec agrees to stop, then gives Loneal his notebook back, apparently the lost item he'd been sent return, while inviting himself to visit the club with him.

However on the way there Alec is summoned by Noah, and Loneal goes ahead alone where he meets Zeno again. Loneal is hesitant, but accepts Zeno's assistance to help him research the primordial magic exclusive to the royal family to help with the play. While going through the book given by Zeno, he finds the page about the Holy Bride's magic, along with a section about "dark magic". He gets uneasy, and when he expresses interest in it, Zeno takes the opportunity to try flirting again. Loneal shuts him down firmly, Zeno doesn't take it well but Alec steps in before he can do much. Loneal asks what the Public Morals Committee wanted with him, and Alec hesitates before telling him the hooded man with the magical beast was identified as a student and member of the Public Morals Committee.

Alec is shown days prior reporting the events thus far to his father, stating a potential repeat of a disaster that occurred 2450 years ago and asking to lead the investigation. The King agrees, but when he requests permission to have Loneal attend the interrogation, he refuses to risk endangering civilians. Alec manages to convince him by telling him that the person in question could be the nation's future hope.

During the interrogation they learn Cain's leader is also a student at the school, who reached out after Cain expressed hatred for magic, recruiting him with the promise of building a world without magic. Loneal challenges his intentions, Alec chimes in with a promise to try and prevent more victims of the magic class system like him, but in the end Cain refuses to betray Zeno, activating a memory eraser Zeno had given him as an experiment. With Cain's memories wiped he's set free under surveillance, and they continue preparing for the festival. During rehearsals the female lead is injured, and Loneal is chosen as her replacement. He struggles at first, but with Alec's help manages to get through the practice. While trying on the costume, Alec does his usual thing, but Loneal starts feeling odd about being dressed like a woman while they do so. Things progress without much issue, up until the day of the play. Zeno approaches Loneal and the two walk around the grounds, Zeno apologizing for making him uncomfortable with the confession and flirting and the two "make up". Zeno purposefully does so within view of Alec, triggering the voice in his head to return and leaving him uneasy. When Loneal leaves to get ready for the play, Zeno gives him a bag of cookies from his class's stand, which are shown with the same black smoke from the temple.

The play goes fine until the last act, when during a fight scene Alec's unease gets worse, and after locking eyes with Zeno in the audience the voice returns. Alec tries to stay in character but starts getting more aggressive, and sensing the shift Loneal is forced to use the Holy Bride's powers and jumps to Alec's rescue. Zeno is satisfied with the plan seemingly having worked, Noah recognizes what Loneal did, while everyone else seems to accept it as part of the play. Alec takes Loneal to the hidden balcony from the novel, and trying to prevent him from getting frisky again Loneal pulls out the cookies and eats one, which causes his magic to go haywire. Alec manages to stabilize him, but Loneal is intoxicated again and Alec does what Alec does. Halfway through he starts commenting on Loneal's panties and bra, which causes Loneal to start freaking out, eventually breaking down and asking whether Alec would prefer he were a woman, if he has to be a girl or if Alec could still love him as a man. Alec says he doesn't care what his gender is and that he loves Loneal for who he is, taking off the underwear completely to prove his point.

Alec then in turn asks him to repeat the last line of the play Loneal had improvised, getting him to call Alec "my love" over and over until they're finished, both wondering whether the other really meant what they'd said. The next day, Zeno puts forth the next phase of his plan, planting a letter of accusation in the club tower claiming Loneal is in love with Lily and trying to get between her and Alec (technically true, but not with Lily lol). The students, having been put under Zeno's influence by the cookies, turn on Loneal and attempt a citizen's arrest. Noah interrupts and tries to stop them but they insist on "defending their Prince's honour". Said Prince was right behind Noah, and is enraged at the sight of Loneal pinned to the floor by the students. He brings the shaken Loneal back to the castle and comforts him, before declaring he'll be staying at the castle until the situation is resolved, getting Lily and Seth's support as well. Alec's younger brother Luke shows up and disregards Loneal in favour of Lily, much to Alec's displeasure. Loneal is fine with his disrespect, just happy seeing Alec in big brother mode. Loneal convinces Alec to let him continue attending school on the condition he not do anything alone. He agrees, but ends up getting attacked by another student while waiting for Alec in the classroom the following day, being saved by Zeno who continues playing the good friend to further earn Loneal's trust. Lily rushes over after hearing the commotion and escorts Loneal back to the castle, where Alec quickly joins them in a panic. He decides to ask Luke to use his power to see the future on Loneal, however the card he pulls is black, and Luke is unable to read Loneal's future because his body and soul don't match. Luke believes Loneal is cursed and becomes desperate to seperate Alec from Loneal, however Alec refuses to budge. Loneal is unsettled by the revelation, as well as the accusation that he's a threat to Alec, and Alec cheers him up by bringing him on a picnic in front of a statue honouring a Holy Bride.

On the way back they run into a group of knights led by Alec's teacher, who like Zeno immediately picks up on Alec's relationship with Loneal. He confronts Alec privately later but doesn't actually oppose it, stating he personally prefers Alec as he is with Loneal. Alec is thankful and has a flashback to his past, which leads into how he first met Loneal, where it's also shown that the same flowers that bloomed when Alec was born that led to the belief he was the reincarnation of the First King, also bloomed when he met and fell in love with Loneal that night

I really love the series so I'm always down to talk about it! I reread all of it whenever a new chapter gets released so I have pretty much everything memorized at this point (,,`•ω<,,)✧

Oh ok, but if you wanna know it's kind of like the nickname a character in Twisted Wonderland (an RPG game, that's NOT an Otome) calls us shrimpy and it basically became the way everyone represents our character so i js assumed (it's not a romantically nickname that specific character has a nickname based on marine life for everyone depending on how they look)
