Tbh this doesn’t feel like a it’s Lyle’s fault vs its Ash’s fault situation, it just feel like poor narrative and character decisions on the author’s part,,,, like this side of Ash came out so late into the story that it feels out of place?? Ash had 90 chapters building him up to be kind and gentle and have lots of self control etc etc, even despite hints that he could be really possessive, and then all of a sudden during his rut he’s just going to ignore everything that Lyle says and do it his way and honestly was much more degrading than he had to be. Like you could be incredibly possessive and only want to FUCK and still maintain a desire to be respectful? with what you love at the same time, which would feel more true to the way Ash has been portrayed this whole time. Again, if this came out earlier it’d kind of be like a oh yeah ok he’s rly nice usually but an asshat during rut, part and parcel of ABO whatever. But now it’s just like huh??? What about the ash from all those chapters before?? Why’s he being so trashy rn???? Idk lol been waiting over 2 years to see Ash go crazy and fuck Lyle into oblivion but this wasn’t what I thought it’d be (⌒▽⌒)
agreed it definitely think it comes to the author squeezing this bit near the tail end of the series as opposed to maybe in the middle where they're still figuring each other out and catching feelings.. so then if if we were to get a similar scene at this point of the story the flow wouldn't feel so off!
