I think the good thing about this story is you get 2-in-1. 2 stories in 1. Separate story for their game selves and real selves.
The fact that they don't know each other's identity until later is what makes it interesting. It's no fun if they already know each other's true identity in the beginning (or like 5 chapters in lol) because imo, once they do esp if in the beginning, it lessens the excitement of the rest of the story. The slow burn and build up to it is what makes it exciting.
