I'm so very moved about the ending. I haven't read the actual novel so if anyone has lmk because I heard the ending is closed in the novel, but in this version it leaves it open to interpretation as to whether shavonne is dead or not. It kills me a little because they were really close to getting what they wanted — so I'm just going to safely assume the last few chapters are in fact not a dream. This is one of the best works of art I've ever read, and I love how it completely subverted my expectations. I went into this thinking it was a 'depressed poor guy and yandere who loves him' type of thing but I was so very wrong and right at the same time? But it's so much more than just that trope. I shed actual tears over this story, ╥﹏╥. If I had to pick a song which reminds me of this story it'd be 'Pool' by Samia 0:). I love how from the beginning if you read the story again you'll be able to see all the little bits and pieces of Llewellyn's old life which he still holds onto — and how they tie in with the rest of the story perfectly. You're told almost the whole story from the very start of it but it doesn't make sense until you read their pasts. Ugh. This is perfect.(⌒▽⌒)

It's 7:40 in the morning I picked this up at 2am and now I have been faced with the terrible fact that I must wait 5 weeks for them to actually have sex.
10/10 story.
