Mashima has this theme of little side quests in between main story arcs. I am hoping because we are approaching the 100YQ maybe finishing with Ignia, that the next side quest will be searching for Aquarius’ key. I can hope at least.
Why does Jaekyung have to be like that!!! UGH! He is obviously repressing his emotions and lashing out… when he was drunk I think that was a peak into his honest personality. Still rough and guarded but affectionate and kind. I think his anger is because he saw the marks on Dan and realized what he did, showing that side was embarrassing enough and then to find out Dan was working towards a gift to him just tipped his emotionally repressed trigger button. I don’t know what the answer is at this point, Dan giving him the silent treatment? Dan leaving doesn’t seem possible. FUCK! I’m mad because I started to think there was a glimmer of hope but it was just breadcrumbs.
Maybe I just read ENTIRELY too many fucked up enemies to lovers stories and toxic romances… but I’m rooting for Jaekyung to actually shed some of the pompous attitude and show his real personality. The guy that went to visit Dan’s grandma and beat the crap out of the debt collectors… I also want to believe that emotions are just foreign to him. Unpopular opinion but I think he’s better for having Dan & I’m hopeful he realizes it.
Am I the only one that thinks the official translations hit differently? Maybe it’s just me but the rhetoric between them makes much more sense and adds depth to their characters.
I feel like we don’t normally get that many plot points in a single issue. Dan being confused about Jaekyung stopping, Dan letting weird dude down, Side Coupling, and Jaekyung actually asking himself a non surface level question?

I’m hoping they tandem release the Riftan perspective chapters like they did with the novel. It makes you see just how much he loves her. Stick with it, it’s worth it for the Chair scene! Oooooh that glorious chair. (≧∀≦)
