I really hope the manhwa stays true to the novel. I don't want any unnecessary romance. One of the reasons I fucking loved the novel was that their was no romance between mc and tany female character. Yes, he was shipped with 1 or 2 female characters but the MC was in no headspace for romance at all. He was busy surviving, then busy looking for his parents, then busy saving the world. Alsp, MC confirmed Yejin was too young for him and he saw her as more of a little sister so I hope to god we stick to that.
Imo, this really didn't need any romance at all. The story is pretty good and there's a lot to cover plot wise without mudding it with a romance I'm sure most readers dgaf about.
I read this a few months ago so my memory is quite hazy.
The woman goes to Busan and sees the world tree and the barrier and she also got the invitation for citizenship which she declined. She then goes back to the head vampire and tells him everything. If I remember correctly, he goes with her to see Busan for himself. He then tries to pierce through the barrier and even managed to punch a hole in it. That was when Jaehyun decided that he was too dangerous and that they had to eliminate the vampires in ulsan since he didn't want them to go into hsi territory.
They slowly infiltrate Ulsan. Once Jaehyun's retainers are there they realozedthat while their are 3 factions(?) in Ulsan, those in high ranks were all vampires and that ulsan was basically a human farm for the vampires. They constracted a forward base (?) in ulsan and basically once Jaehyun set it up she could give citizenship to the people. Once that was done, those who were vampires immediately were marked and severely restricted. That was how the people also found out that they were living among vampires and were being tricked and manipulated by them. That's how Jaehyun slowly unravels and destroys the system created bh the vamoires. They then slowly integrate into the other factionss, spy on them, gather intel and slowly plan a surprise attack. They targeted several places and killed several high ranking vampires through poison mist using the rats and through assasinations. It helped that the vampires were pretty slow to respond. By the tame they realozed what was happening a handful of their key figures were already killed.
While this was going on, the head vampire was still slowly recovering his hand (its the hand he used to pierce through Jaehyuns barrier. It was severlyburned and damaged). Funny enoguh, while Jaehyun felt fear seeing his barrier pierced and realizing it wasn't indestructible, the head vampire also felt fear from seeing something he couldn't destroy. Side note, the vampire is not a human or an awakened. We learn that the is not from this world at all. He even thought Jaehyun was like him, someone who isn't from earth given how ubsurdly strong Jaehyun is.
To summarize the Vampires x Jaehyin, other than the head vampire, the other Vampires weren't a match for Jaehyuns team. There was a bit of a struggle trying to kill the head vampire but they still managed it. I believed a some people died but none from Jaehyun's og team so I don't remember their names at all.
In the end, Ulsan got saved from the vampires however, with the vampires gone other monsters started swarming the place. Most of the people in ulsan accepted citizenship from Jaehyun while some other places were mostly self sufficient and didn't feel the need to accept citizenship. For them, Jaehyun just helped them by setting up stores that they can use.
And thats how the Ulsan and vampire arc ends I think?
It's the rewriting of history to make the grandma more palatable. I'm sorry but as someone who read the first book, in no way was what the grandma said a mistake kr a slop of the tongue or some kind of defense mechanism. Honestly this didn't need to be included in the story. These mfers keep failing Hyesung time and time again
It’s just her true colors.
