I read a very similar trope and this really pales in comparison.
Nah I think they have bits of similarities and mostly different. The main characters have totally different backstories, goals and plot. This is a death game, that is like a fantasy setting. Plus it’s a totally different tone (I’ve reread that multiple times so I’m being nit picky)
Personally they aren’t similar enough for me to put them in the same trope. Tho another similarity might be the ml becoming overly possessive and clingy to the main character. But other than that they are completely different.
I wanna be a big baddie gives similar vibes to this. BUT I agree the reader and protagonist have to be in true love is awesome and a great recommendation. U have great taste (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
This thing is only good for a one off read. Re-reading this now, and I'm having issue with a good number of things.
First off I'd probably endure some things if MC didn't look the way he does for a ~30 year old.
Then again MC is too weak willed, he's been like that since a kid and it's annoying, also he's tooooo attached to his dead lover that he quite literally lost his sense of self, yeah he went through a lot and I could probably never understand him because I'm a third person, but then this won't be my first ghost/psychological story, so I'm judging hard.
And just to be clear, I'm not saying whatever anyone else thinks about the story is wrong or incorrect, we have different way of viewing things
I'm black, not black American, black black, but I think, if an author wants to write anything interracial they need to think well and hard about it.
People are quite sensitive when it comes to race and slavery.
But then there's nothing out of line yet in this first chapter, he set the slaves free, I'm not saying he's a savior or anything, but he set them free okay, let's not gloss over that fact.
Then the "I'm your humble slave" I don't think there's still anything too far fetched about it, y'all should calm down okay.
Yes to Jim Crow! And people said he gave them money and they wanted to leave like clearly y'all don't know that these people would be killed within the WEEK of them leaving with no place to live and large bundles of cash. For former slaves who were freed probably a few months ago to have that much money with no white "handler" in sight they would be killed for it
Yes I'm black, and being African doesn't mean you get to speak on issues that now have very little to do with your country. You aren't black you're African, we're called black because most of those who's families were taken for slaves don't what country we came from or what names they arrived with to learn. You wouldn't want Americans talking about stuff in your country that has very important context so why do you get to speak on ours

I wanted to see more interactions between koma, the cat and the tiger(can't remember his name).
You are in luck there is more in part 2
