hyeonjae is really...not subtle. threatening(?) his brother so blatantly is a little....
jingi is bound to find out hyeonjae is working for their uncle eventually. but it's gonna be sooner rather than later.
my guess is:
-their uncle is gonna pull strings to get hyeonjae moved
-jingi is gonna know it could only be their uncle who did it and immediately figure out the murder plot
-he's gonna use myeongil (ignoring his own feelings towards him) to hinder the plan somehow by keeping hyeonjae in check
-myeon is gonna find out and be forced to pick sides
the tension is building up to something big, i'm excited to see the situation explode ☆ڡ☆

jingi is absent this chapter, and hyeonjae acts flustered when he gets mentioned... i'm so curious about what happened last night between them.
surely they didn't fight, did they? they can't exactly fight quietly with a third person in the same cell.
i'm also leaning more towards hyeonjae suffering from borderline personality disorder now, with a bit of inferiority complex as well

they didnt fight lol the grey haired one just requested him not coming so only him and myeongi can go to the place together he got flustered cause he thinks myeongi likes the sexy brown haired one more than him, he also got flustered cause hes jealous ppl keep asking for him
jingi is definitely compensating for his trauma. some lasting psychological effects of csa are hyper sexuality and self destructive behavior. the fact he's modified his genitals could be a sign of both.
he's more affected than he lets on, whether he knows it or not. for example, him rebelling against his abuser by growing his hair out long, to make himself undesirable. his need to dominate and to hurt others through sex, it all leads back to his abuse.
hyeonjae was stunted, not just developmentally but emotionally. that's not to say he 'doesn't know' what he's doing, but his emotions feel juvenile, very one dimensional. his anger and jealousy are magnified ten times over childish reasons. it's all or nothing for him. that could be because he grew up as an outsider, both in his foster home and school. but this chapter also shows he was exhibiting signs of cruelty very early on. which might be psychopathy instead? who knows

no youre so real for this. i yapped about this topic in a bit more detail back in june. andim so glad to find someone else who understands! a lot of people here seem to overlook their trauma and how it shaped them. how they both experienced different things after leaving their birth parents, how that reflected on the both of them, how it explains their personality/actions, but still doesnt excuse them. i love morally wrong yet complex characters like these
one hundred percent. and i feel like, if the author is trying to tell a good story, it's up to the reader to notice and pick apart the plot and narrative. rereading the story with the added context and new information really helps put a lot of things into perspective.

yeah i’m loving the story so far. this is just my very simple observation, im not sure if this is what the author was even aiming for, but all three characters are very intriguing and fun to analyze.

and also, heonjae doesn't know about his uncle raping(?) jingi/other children. he's still in the dark about that. i wonder if he'll ever find out? maybe that'll change things?
neither brother is good.
i mean, jingi has physically assaulted and raped myeongi more times than hyeonjae has ever had "a chance" to do the same. this is just the kind of story this is.
and csa aside, many people who've gone through the same trauma don't become rapists or abusers. both (FICTIONAL) characters were made this way for a reason.
pick a lesser evil but a "better" choice doesn't exist here. please leave your morals at the door and choose your champion based on your own tastes (●◡●)っ
