'Shounen' means young boy (teenage male) so the shounen genre refers to what a young boy might enjoy reading like one piece, naruto, dragon ball Z, etc. Whereas 'ai' means love so 'shounen ai' is boy love. That's there difference. I do believe this was under shounen ai but when they had sex it added the mature content tag
