It’s likely to keep up with serialisation. In serialised works they generally have a couple extra chapters in the backlog to act as a buffer for the schedule when that first release the work, the artist probably noticed they were taking more time than expected to produce each chapter. The one in charge of the adaption saw this and hired a different (faster) artist to keep up with schedule. The new artist then has to keep the first artist’s style to keep consistency.
(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ TLDR: new artist copying the old art style while being on a time crunch makes the new art look a bit off
Some other reasons the old artist was canned include cost, often a better more expensive artist is hired to do a promo or the first 20 chaps to make readers invested before being let go cause they expensive, it could also be any of the other reasons a person leaves their job like better offers, burnout, or not liking the boss. Ps I didn’t see any specific post regarding the situation so don’t take my word as law, it’s just intuition from a fellow reader
