It's funny to read the comments and seeing people trying to make sense that the ones angry at the cheating don't understand the gay experience, etc. when its much more simple as NTR being the most hated genre of fiction lol
I don’t care if people like or dislike the MC, the trope or whatever, but I know plenty queer people who hate this trope with their guts, so I promise you is less about who understand or not and more about how much people hate cheating. As someone who likes NTR-cheating, I recommend reading the comments of any untagged NTR dj and you will laugh for a whole day lol people will be able to read loli, noncon, shota, incest but draw the line with adultery in a way I still don’t understand. Nothing bad with that obviously! I just find it funny

Probably because cheating is too real and it's something that many people can relate. In contrast to loli, incest, these are all taboo fantasies to most people. Normal people don't condone or do those in real life, but can enjoy them as a form of fantasy. Cheating, on the other hand, is much more common. It hits too close to home to enjoy.

I hope someone post the r18 doujin of this.
Also, little side eye to that bara x idol tag, in the manga itself they call it BL doujin. I know most people on this site don’t care and hardly search (bcz yaoi readers on this site seem to hate yaoi or feel ashamed that they like it so they have to show in different ways that they are aware of how "bad" it is to not feel shame) but different types of BL exist and gachimuchi is one! They are popular even in the commercial BL market, but obviously not everything gets translated. (e.g. Sugar Salt)

Annoying long rant
People cannot read yaoi on this site without mentioning rating as if 8.5 of 10 is bad, you all let this site and your insecurities (“if it’s lower than 9 I can’t read it because is bad”) rot your brains, this manga has only 45 reviews, 57,8% give it 5 stars, 20% give it 4 stars. This manga and the author are already well known even when none of his BL works are online. I myself hate dramas and been waiting years for a kind soul to post the manga. Stop using one western site as a source and trying to imply weird biases to try to make sense of a “low” rating.
I am happy and I am sure I will love it, but just because is based on real life experience it doesn’t means that it will be good or that everyone must like it.

It’s fascinating how people are so accustomed to sexual dimorphism that they only complain that the dude looks half his age, not her lol. without mention, that is how this author draws as you can see in their other works. it’s not about the infantilization, fetishization, blabla of gay men, they simply draw dudes like that.
its funny how a male design is analized differently if they are in a bl/gay even if the author draw all the male characters the same. in fact we see another dude in the first chapter that also looks young but he doesn’t get overanalyzed.
the other day i was talking with a friend about how differently people would talk about Kazehaya or Tamaki if instead of being in a straight shojo romance they where in a BL with the exact personality and design.

—It's happened to me too many times that guys here disagree with me and immediately assume I'm a woman, so before some misgender me, I am a dude as my name makes it obvious (also queer—

Personally I don't think this is fetishistic, because by the same logic queer men who find Endeavor sexy are fetishizing women's suffering for eroticizing a woman abuser, same logic with Purple Guy from FNAF (the author is a know racist and said character is a serial killer of children)
So the logic that this manga is bad based on “most of them don’t see us as people” because there are bigot women fap to gay porn doesn’t work. Going by that logic, the mere existence of misogynistic gay men that find Endeavor hot would mean that by default all gay dudes who like him are misogynistic and fetishize DV, and that logic doesn’t make sense At All. Do you think all guys fapping to Endeavor don’t see women as people and find him hot because he is misogynistic? Do you assume every guy that like Purple Guy and FNAF is racist?
there are? yes. are all of them like that? no. so why that logic cannot be appplied here?. I know there are bigots fujos, what does that have to do with all fujos or with this manga? I don’t concern myself with bigots who like the same things as me and I don’t think I need to “pay for their sins” either. Nor do I think analyzing a work based on the fact that bigots can like it have any merit. A racist created FNAF and you don’t go out of your way to say “Bigots like this, so everyone that like it is also one” right?
Nothing bad with not licking this manga, I just feel like a lot of people are cynical, it's like people who like DB and say CCS is problematic. Go Nagai fans saying that Keiko Takemiya is problematic, etc.

Its funny when there is one comment complaining about something, and then eight comments complaining about that 1 comment lol

Also, there is a lot of art variety in the genre if you take the time to search (and learn how to search btw, by magazine, editorial, publisher, etc) I go to some people mgg profiles to see what they read and you can only blame yourself tbh

“Increasingly distorted version of anime guys that are so prevalent in the current BL sphere” lol, lmao even

Aside, I am amazed at the way almost all comments in this site praising a BL can never be “I really like it” “Contrary to others I really like this work” instead is always something “This is good contrary to the shit this genre is” “This is good you all just have basic taste”. I swear to god that the “fresh air” comment is under every yaoi on this site lol

Idk man, if I was a (yaoi) author and all the comments praising my work were shitting the genre I am working on (which obviously mean that I like said genre) or mention how bad the work by other authors is just to uplift mine, I would get more angry over that that the fact people are reading it for free in a pirated site lol

One of the best and truest comments I've ever read on this site.

I have read some comments and

I know that most do not know how the market works and believe mangakas just want to make easy money doing One-Volume mangas.

Gangan Bliss is a new magazine(a online one if i am not mistaken), 9 series, 3 finished and 6 ongoing (which mean that obviously some series are going to be more long, otherwise there is no content) so, the reason why this manga is good is because the author was given a long run from the begining. In other words, she has the opportunity to expand in the story and characters, and other things you can add from the begining knowing you will have the time to develop. Most BL manga are given one volume from the start by the magazine. It is difficult to craft a story in one volume, that’s why most are focused only on the MC’s lives, hardly have secondary characters, are rushed and little worldbuilding.
Nothing bad in wanting something in a story, but these things have nuances and the constant “Why can’t more yaoi be like this?” as if was authors fault and not magazines, it is annoying. I also noticed that a lot of people genuinely believes BL mangakas make one-volume works to “drown on easy money” or “it’s easy money for them! that’s why they mass produce these short and badly stories” —with badly being synonymous with for I Don’t Like It— I implore you all to search how much mangakas are paid. Even Gintama’s author talked about this lol. Not to mention how the pay varies depending on the demographic (with BL being one with lower pay according to multiple mangakas)
Companies behind magazines are gaining money, no authors.
It is easier for a BL mangaka to receive an offer to start a new manga than to continue an existing one. Our dinning table being the most recent example of this, the sequel came out after seven years lol.

Genuinely excited as I have been aware of this manga since 2018 (yes, it is Dark Heaven author, chinese/korean authors use a different penname and different accounts when they work for japanese magazines) but sadly I know this will attrack all the “I’m not like other girls” type of bl reader lol
