They don't show the parents having a moral arc or learning something or changing. And it's not the parents who apologize, but the children who forgive, and that's it, everything's fine. And this happens in various media: dramas, manhwa, etc.
As many have already mentioned, a 28-year-old man with an 11-year-old boy isn't right. I don't understand why the author decided to make the main character a child. The premise isn't bad; it could have been the same story with characters aged 22 and 39, and the "age gap" theme would still be relevant.
