Either this wasn’t doing well and they had to end it or the author just didn’t wanna do it anymore cause that ending imo is so abrupt. First off, this story is written so well as a middle aged man becoming a high schooler. He is enjoying his youth he never got to enjoy as well as having friends he never got to have. Plus, he protects because they hold a special place in his heart. He never gives in to the advances on the young girls (fucking finally). He thinks of Noren as someone who he wants to give a better life because she’s constantly being put in shitty situations. He protects her like he would his daughter.
