Hey, since the k-drama is coming in about 2 months, I want to spoil you a little. Since there are 4 main characters, there are basically 4 POVs.

navier – empress
She’s the daughter of a noble family who was trained to become an empress since she was little. She studied and worked so hard to become the perfect empress, and she loved the emperor dearly since they were young. But then the emperor cheated on her with another woman. At first, the story shows how unfairly she was treated. She was a good empress, but was simply thrown away because the emperor loved another woman. Eventually, she decided to leave her country, married another man in another country, had children, and got her happy ending. Her story is really sad because she sacrificed herself to become a perfect empress, only to be thrown away by her own people because the emperor loved someone else.

sovieshu – emperor
He’s a bastard, and the story clearly shows him cheating on his wife with a younger woman and getting her pregnant, then telling his empress to accept it. But later in the story, it’s revealed that the emperor and empress never had children even though they had been married for years. He actually loved navier too, since they were children. But then he found out that when he was young, he had given navier a poison that made her infertile. He knew she couldn’t have children, but he still loved her and didn’t want to abandon her just because she was infertile. So he came up with a plan to have a child with another woman who was a former slave, take the baby, and claim that the child was his and navier’s. And this is where everything went terribly wrong.

rashta – former slave
She wasn’t born a slave. She was just the daughter of a poor gambler who eventually sold her into slavery when she was young. She was just an ordinary girl who happened to be pretty. The son of her master fell in love with her, and they had a child together, but he abandoned the baby and tried to kill rashta, so she ran away. Well, you could say she’s an opportunist, but considering how she had lived her whole life struggling, it’s understandable why she grabbed the opportunity when an emperor fell in love with her. She became his mistress, and this is what eventually made her a bad person. She was also foolish and kept provoking the empress, which eventually contributed to her own downfall. Yeah, some people feel sorry for her because her life was basically miserable from the beginning.

heinrey – prince from another country
He’s a prince who falls in love with the empress. He seduces her and takes the opportunity when her heart is already broken, eventually taking her as his wife. He later becomes a king and then an emperor, and they have children and a happy ending.

So yeah, this is why I hate it when an author gives characters POVs like this. It makes people confused. Like, if you want to make bad people like the emperor and rashta, just make them bad until the end. But no, the author instead shows us their sides and gives them tragic backstories, which makes readers who have been reading this for years and have hated rashta and the emperor suddenly feel confused and even sorry for them.

For 3 years??? And minho’s only like 4 or 5, so he left minho when he was just 1 or 2. At this point, I think minho needs new parents. Just get married already, uncle and teacher, then you can have two sons

I love how the author changed mori’s expression to a smile in the side story chapter. I’ve been reading this since 2024, and this story is so heartwarmingly great.

He left her, feeling sad because Lily didn’t recognize him. But Lily ran after him all the way outside. She was crying, angry, and hitting him while saying that her dad didn’t love her anymore because she had grown up and wasn’t a baby anymore. He noticed that Lily’s hands were hurting from hitting him. Then he showed her the words he had written earlier in human language. The message made Lily cry even harder because it said, “I’m sorry. I miss you. Please don’t be in pain.” Then he started crying too. Some time later, it showed that Lily was still staying at the kindergarten, but he sent her a set of clothes that had the same color as his body, which made Lily very happy.

It’s so sad because they had to part ways

seeing all these babies without parents makes me wonder if they were abandoned or if their parents passed away. thinking about that just makes this story even sadder, so glad they found new parents who are kind and loving

I think I know where this story is going

Haesoo will get the best job and a place to live so she can feel happy because of taeha, and he’ll shower her with love so she gets trapped by him

Then haesoo will find out that taeha did bad things to mincheol, she’ll feel sad and betrayed, but won’t be able to do anything since she already loves taeha
