The problem is not the pacing, the problem is the lack of reciprocity at this point. It gets disappointing. I'm tired of only Lihuan being the one chasing and chasing... I still like the story but this was the last straw for me and what is done is done. Even if they have their happy ending, which we know they'll have, I still won't like how things went between them. Sure, they're cute but that's it.
The worst part is that this is exactly the shit I hate the most and it frustrates me when authors do it. Because, sadly, it's a thing. I mean when they make the character /that already does everything/ feel guilty and feel like they're the one who were wrong and have the obligation to save the other from whatever and fight for them even more to boot. So I just rolled my eyes when Lihuan blamed himself.
You’d think that, typically, with the add-on of a female threat then that means Li Huan would start chasing. But if even jealousy isn’t enough to push him, then the only thing that can help him change is his himself.
