The first season was so good, but the way the second one started makes me doubt whether I even want to read it. They're making him look insane, like a stalker rather than just a heartbroken person. Even though he messed up big time.
I don't know, maybe it's just me...
No, me too. I'm not liking it. This is not yearning, it's something else. As you said insanity. Also from the first two chapters it's clear Nanjo didn't came to him even after the incident for so long. Even the art style feels different. On top of that author is clearly trying to make Seonhwa likable. Idk you like him or not, I hate him.
With all due respect to both you and the person replying to you, Mokyeon has always been portrayed as being more of an insane obsessive guy rather than just a "heartbroken person" simply "yearning", especially in the middle and in the end of season 1... Idk what y'all have been reading up to this point lol
Mokyeon wanted to bang Nanjo's ass; fine. He took advantage of Nanjo's blindness and misplaced sense of chivalry to create a bullshit deal to bang him once so that he could finally stop dreaming about fucking him; okay.... Mokyeon fucks Nanjo, in a way that he himself describes as "rape" afterwards and tells him that he needs to make an effort to enjoy it or else it doesn't count; okay, insane. When Nanjo makes an effort, Mokyeon loves it and doesn't want to let that hot piece of ass go, so he twists the deal to make their sexual encounters continue, and Nanjo is coerced into agreeing; not great ...
Mokyeon was made to be obsessive and twisted quite early on.
Mokyeon doesn't listen to Nanjo telling him "No" and "Stop that" 95% of the time when they have sex; I know this behavior is romanticized a lot in BL, Hentai and GL, and I'm personally not shocked by it, but still it's not a show of love, it's a show of lust and obsession and it's disregarding the other person.
I mean, Mokyeon even fucks Nanjo while he's passed out...
And when Mokyeon realizes he's "in love" and actually tries to behave in a cute and pleasant way with Nanjo, his efforts are wasted because he cannot accept that his relationship with Nanjo is really just based on 1) sex and 2) Nanjo upholding the deal to ""protect"" Sunwha (we know he ain't protecting shit but Nanjo doesn't know that lmao). Even when Nanjo's body ends up reacting positively to sex with Mokyeon, it's not an indication of love.
In a fit of jealousy, Mokyeon almost smothers Sunwha with a pillow during a threesome... What was the play here, Mokyeon ? Making the lover of the guy you like suffocate is not gonna make him fall for you, quite the opposite... That jealousy blinded him so hard it made him do this crazy thing, and Nanjo was clearly put off by it
And then uhhh... Mokyeon can't swallow being number 2 in Nanjo's heart (or not being in it at all) so he storms in Nanjo's workplace uninvited, and then has that infamous bloody rape fantasy while saying shit like "You're mine. You're fucking mine. If I can't have you, if I can't, then I'd rather-" (chap 27).... Hmmmm. Yeah, it was just a fantasy in Mokyeon's head, and he is really hurt and sad by Nanjo not reciprocating his attention, but someone who's simply "heartbroken" would not have that kind of fantasy and pester their crush like that. It's obsessive.
And last scene of season 1: Out of delusional and obsessive love/lust, Mokyeon oversteps the boundary (title drop) and does something insane to try and get Nanjo all to himself. We could see from a mile away that it was not going to work and that it would be the straw that broke the camel's back for Nanjo.
So to me, season 2 is starting perfectly coherently. Mokyeon was always borderline insane, and he got more and more obsessive during S1. Nanjo was Mokyeon's first real "crush" and he never had the mental tools to handle that, and now that he fucked up very badly to the point of Nanjo losing his shit on him and ghosting him, it's normal to see him unravel. His backstory is there to explain why his perception of what is "love" is so messed up.
So again, I don't understand what y'all have been reading to say that you thought he was just yearning and heartbroken.
I'm not trying to bash you at all, I'm just discussing the story and the characters with you.
And let me say that I do really like Mokyeon as a character, he's very interesting as an MC ! But he's not just a poor misunderstood baby who got his heart broken unjustly. He really fumbled...
Anyway have a nice day
Well, obviously the same thing as you.
Yes, he was aggressive, jealous, definitely dominant, as you said, they all showing "top" guys like that. But for me, at least, he didnt seem to be insane stalker who lost the last connection to reality. At least not until the point of manga where he shows up in his office, but still, he controled himself and left . Yet it seemed his jealous and dominant side mixed together, because he cannot get what he wants. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

The first part is so adorable and so real life thing. Ahahhaha
Best chapter so far
